**** it. No in-hand pics that have convinced me that this is worth 300 bucks. Cancelled my order, NRD be damned.

I hope they get a little further down the learning curve before they try and tackle a Martin Freeman Bilbo. He is by far the most desired figure for me.

I purchased the Witch King figure and nothing else. Fool me once....

Looking at a bunch of pics from the movies, seems like most of the horses are brown with no cuts. I only see black horses with cuts in statues and toys. So where did the reference for. Black horses with cuts come from?

My brother recieved his set this afternoon. He pre ordered it directly from Asmus. He says it only took 4 days from Taiwan to Canada.

I think people filled in the gaps left by the moody promo pics with their imaginations, and based on other representations of the figure. I don't care so much about the cuts... it's what I see as poor weathering all round that rankles a bit. And the hit-and-miss bodies...

If I wasn't all-in on the Star Wars line I'd probably keep my order for this. I'm sure this could look great on display with futzing and some minor weathering apps, but I'm not feeling it at this point.

Really?
I find that they are getting better and better.
Besides the floppy bodies it's not really a QC thing. Forcing a collector to purchase their product to fix a QC problem with their product is just wrong IMO. From the start I was not happy that they were taking resources away from the LOTR and using them on The Hobbit. I understand that The Hobbit is a popular license for some. That's great for those interested but for me and some others who got into this line for the LOTR it's not a good decision.

Now we have the nazgul and steed, their most expensive set yet. The prototype pictures of the steed were stunning. The actual product though is much cleaner and it's missing things from the prototype that really made you go wow. The nazgul itself, from early indications is on another floppy body.

We are supposed to see Aragorn in February. If that is pushed back again with no updates that will be the deciding factor for me most likely. I know this sounds like a whiny post but it is what it is.

I understand this point; it could become a slippery slope. But I've looked at it as a young company trying to make up for past issues. Of course we all learn more as we go along so clearly if this continues Asmus will continue to lose customers.

Character choice is a whole other issue. I imagine Asmus, like any company, will go where the money is. If they can pick up three new customers for Hobbit and only lose one LOTR fan due to impatience, its probably worth the risk... because that impatient dude will be back as soon as there's something he wants.

Ah fuggit, I paid the invoice. I have another pre-order with animarket and didn't want a strike recorded for a failure to pay.

The money was just sitting in my paypal account waiting for this anyway, so it's not as though I feel broke about it.

I hope I'm pleasantly surprised and that I can find space for a sodding great velvety horse with floppy Nazgul someplace.

Ye gotta take a tour in this thread, and look at the pics from Asmus, regarding the process and progress of the sculpt. At one point, they sculpted a really nice zombie steed with open wounds, bleeding here and there.

I'll try ;)

Just finished listening to the BBC radio adaptions again, got me real pumped for this.

Hey all, thanks to my fear of missing out I had preordered the Asmus Nazgul and steed from urban samurai and I also preordered the ACI Nazgul from a store overseas. Both should be shipping in the next few weeks so I should be able to compare both releases and hopefully get some pictures up to help anyone sitting on the fence.
