Again, I am going to say, the biggest problem is the headsculpt. The likeness. It's awful. I have no complaint about the body or the accessories. Although it is kinda bulky, but I'm not complaining.

To Superdoug, let's see you take a pic of your Tauriel, in the same pose and natural light just like my pics.

Front, close up, natural light.

Just to be fair so others will not get fooled by certain good angles and artsy studio lighting.

Because even Asmus seen this thread, and didn't make any comment about me having a bad casting/production headsculpt. It's no error, it is like that. If mine's error or badly casted, Asmus would just say so and offer to replace mine.. nope, it is the final product.

Hi guys... just sharing

Hey Adam, thanks for sharing. Interesting first post.. Can you send us pics of it facing front, close up, not facing sideways? because from sideways shots you can't exactly see how distorted it is.
Thanks.

Yep.. same distorted face.. melted to the side, and still no likeness to Evangeline Lilly. Sad.

This side shows how the face is melted a bit to it's right side:

This is the real one:

Notice how the jaw is much more pointy. And also, the face is not melting in any way.

Dislike the eye shadow but still like the figure on hand. Hopefully someone can give advice on lightening the eye shadow. Worst when you revisit the movie and wonder why someone will put the eye shadow on. :)

Batsheva, I will see if I can take some over the weekend and post them. I would say mine looks a lot more like Adam's than the ones you posted. It could just be the lights or angles that make them look so different. I really haven't spent a lot of time looking at it yet but I think I tend to be easier to please especially with anything Middle Earth. I tried to show that by stating how I viewed the other releases. I definenty see Tauriel in the sculpt but it is not a spot on Evangilene. I will have to take a second look at mine about the melting. I did not notice it last night but that was after a long work day and putting the kids to bed.

Thanks bro.

Adam's pics taken with lamp light, clearly because it's yellowish. Mine was taken during the daylight, so it makes it very clear on what we actually get. The skintone, the painting on the hair, and even the overdone mascara.

And yes, thank you for backing me up about the likeness. I mean, why wasting money on the license, if you can't give the best likeness, Asmus? you got the official license to make Evangeline Lilly's face. Do it justice.

because she's melting..

Honestly I can't see the issues you have in the pictures that Andy posted. Maybe it would show up better in different light. I also think the likeness is pretty good in his pictures. It's of course not perfect but none of their head sculpts have been yet. I'm really wondering if you just got a bad sculpt.

To each their own, of course, but I would be perfectly happy if mine came out looking like Adamchua's pics.

I might spring for a repaint down the road to fix the eyeshadow problem, though. It's bugging me in these close up shots, but we'll see if it bugs me on the shelf.

^ Guys, look.. All I'm trying to do here is just to show you how the actual product is. I got no grudge to Asmus, just stating my dissatisfaction of the actual product, because it doesn't have a good likeness at all.
And it's not defective, otherwise, Asmus would say so.

As a proof, here's a pic of mine with similar lighting with the one Adam took.. of course, with a good light, and proper angle and shadow, it will look ok:

But then the same figure, given a bit of tilt on the angle, will look like this:

And pictured in broad daylight with natural light, it will look like this:

Adam can try do the same tilt, and take a pic of it in the natural daylight. It will look like that.
Room/studio light can make things looks better. But it's a trick because the actual thing is not like that.
I don't want a figure that will only look good in certain angle, with certain light. I want a good likeness, that will look good in many angles. That's all. Heck, even the hair sculpt and paint quality is far from Asmus' Aragorn.
And I want people here to know how the actual product looks like.
