Thank you! Definitely gonna purchase Thranduil no matter what! Prototype looks amazing and majestic! And as there is InArt on the market, I think Asmus will upgrade their figures for the competition.
TBH think ASMUS needs to be consistent about their sculpts and quality control, past that I hope they stay as they are using vinyl and plastics effectively (like Thorins armor scales that I had to poke at to check if they were metal, or what. Still shiny and no peeling!)

At least, since I only have the InArt Aragorn - yes he has a nice sculpt and there is some nice details as well as the rolling eyes, but his costume I have some issues with....the thing is, I don't need ASMUS to be uber upscale. Because that's gonna cost. Like I see no need at all to replacing my ASMUS Gimlis. I mean, if I want real chain maille I can get to work at it; replace some plastic pouches with real leather and all that. But it's time and money upscaling.

That's just me I know others would prefer "the best". Like those rolling eyes not a feature I use much.

I will only buy this if Inart doesn’t make Thranduil. I have a dozen Asmus LOTR and they are all decent, some better or worse. Galadriel was undersized and production suffered. Prologue elves have strange color fabric that doesn’t match source material but I still love them. Hobbits are fine, I managed to get the correct blue eyed non sickly Slim Frodo. Arwen looks great. I think Young Bilbo also looks fine.

Haldir and Thranduil I’ve been waiting for a long time as many know. Unfair though it may be, comparing Inart Thorin to Asmus there in completely different leagues. Same as comparing the derided HD Aragorn to Inart FOTR Aragorn. Looking back at my HD Legolas I can see the body proportions look wrong, a lot of Asmus LOTR figs also have gigantic hands that throw off the whole body.

With Thranduil being very tall, I do hope they use a taller body that the usual stock Adam body or at least extenders to add the additional height! Lee Pace is 6.5ft tall apparently.

IMO this is interesting just seeing how collectors view things. Obviously I'm a happy ASMUS customer.

And while I'll readily agree the InArt Thorin face looks spectacular - like the actor/prosthetics/hair and Aragorn's sculpt is very nice, for me my first InArt wasn't nice enough, as it were. Overall with ASMUS with figures like Thorin, young Bilbo, Gimli, GTG I feel like I got more than I paid for, thanks to excellent material use, lots of accessories, hands, sturdy bodies....

While with InArt it's more - not "premium" ENOUGH. Because if you are going to be premium, you'd better get things right that even Sideshow managed (aside from the fact I got *&^$ hair on Aragorn). The too-short tunic of an inexpensive material (I was expecting microsuede or similar); the very stiff hands, the indifferent production of the elven cloak of another inexpensive material, the questionable use of what looks like bonded leather for the belts and straps which may or may not be a problem in time. From the looks of it, Legolas is gonna need some upgrading as well; the proto council cloak is awful. Even one of the little diecast tabs on the "cord" that hold's my Aragorn's arrows has the end broken off (yes it is a tiny part but it bugs me).

Then there's the Harry Potter cheap peg issue (I already got some extra pegs for Aragorn, just in case).

It's not that I wouldn't buy another InArt; it's just I feel cynical which I don't feel about ASMUS, HT, or even some third party companies.
