Just unofficial news,

we will give away a an Asmus own free upgraded body for Morgul Lord in our next 1/6 LOTR figure. so buyers can swap the body themselves...

(but I guess with me saying it, would make it official...)

What if you don't buy the next figure?

:goodpost::exactly:

The body situation isn't a deal breaker for me. Am I thrilled about it? No. The most important thing to me is that they absolutely nailed the Helm, armor, weapons and robes. I would love to get a free body, but I have no interest in Gothmog. If I feel the need I'll replace the body myself, even though I shouldn't have to.

:clap :clap :clap

Any update on the time line for Gothmog? Is the plan still for him to come out this year? Also how well has the Morgul Lord has been selling?

I'm hoping this line is well received and has staying power because there are a lot of Lord of the Ring figures yet to be made.

Can't wait for my order from AE to ship and arrive!

Hopefully this doesn't get the whole order canceled. :horror

That was my concern too and hopefully that isn't the case. But now that we have news a new body will be included with Gothmog, I am optimistic. Bbts is a huge retailer for stuff like this so if they even threatened to cancel an order, it would get Asmus' attention. Whether their being alerted f the tape issue and this "unofficial" announcement are related, we can only speculate, but bbts was sure to find out about it sooner or later.

That all said, I am still really excited about this figure!

Very nice gesture from Asmus, and I do hope you guys get things sorted out with KP, as all the stuff I've bought from them is top notch.
I've no interest in Gothmog, so I guess I won't be getting a new body, but I'll just wait and see what's up when I get my Witch King.

I didn't want Gothmog at first, but if the final product turns out as good as the proto looks, I'm in. Gothmog was a really cool character.

That's pretty goddamn awesome. While not the ideal solution its extremely rare for a company to offer a fix like that. Classy move :clap

And maybe some picking up Gothmog who are fine with their Witch King can help out others who aren't gonna pick it up but want a replacement :dunno

Anyway, admirable resolution Asmus!

Wow, I have to agree. Classy move Asmus.

Mine just arrived today. I had ordered right away back in May. I ended up ordering from Animarket cause I didn't know who in USA would carry it. Well it finally arrived today. I must say I'm very pleased with everything. I wasn't expecting real metal parts. If it wasn't for the tape issue, I'd say Asmus hit a home run.

That is cool to offer a replacement body... like King said not ideal since not everyone's buying another figure, but it's something.

Any word on when Alter Ego is shipping his one out?

Shame about the crap body on this, but looks like a solid release otherwise.

And just bumping this pic:

So I finally took him out of the box and set him up. First with the good. He's one impressive figure to look at. That's for sure. I love the detail. He's also bigger than everyone else as the WK should be...

Now, to the things that bugged me. I feel there's too much fabric, or it's too bulky. I think I know now what people meant when they wanted to do something with water to the fabric. Also, this....

It's not just there, but a few other places, and it's getting caught on stuff very easily and undoing the fabric.

While I love the metal Helmet, armor, and weapons if the body can't support them, there's no use. The hands have trouble holding the mace and sword. The Mace even pulled the hand off it's peg. That brings me to my final gripe. The hands were way too difficult to change. The armor on the arms keeps getting in the way. I couldn't find a good place to put my other hand to hold the arm steady to get the hand on it's peg. It didn't go on easy at all. I was worried I was going to break something, and the elbow thing on his gauntlet popped off, but luckily it snapped back into place.

So It's an impressive to look at. I just got a little frustrated setting him up. He's probably going to be a figure I don't mess with that much after finding a pose I like. I'll probably get Gothmog. cause I've always wanted a gothmog figure, but I'm really hoping Asmus learns from their mistakes cause they have some very cool ideas.

P.S Also, the hands with finger articulation seem like they could break easily so just be gentle with them.

Nearly every figure I've ever owned had strings that needed to be trimmed. With a figure that's supposed to have a tattered look, a little trimming is to be expected.
