Maybe if enough people e-mail ASMUS and say something ASMUS will change the plan.
I think it's great what they are doing but I think they need to rethink how they are doing it. If they just throw a body in with the next release there will be people who didn't get the Witchking get a free bonus body. Those who did get the Witchking but aren't planning on getting the next release will miss out.

I doubt there any many ppl who would buy a Gothmog figure that wouldn't have bought the Witch King. Gothmog is an obscure character that is more or leas a movie only character. The Witch King is a pivotal character in LOTR. I would think it odd for any LOTR fan to spend $160 on a Gothmog figure but not buy a Witch King. The only ppl falling into that category i think would be those who already have a different witch king.

Now, the other way around, people buying witch king and not wanting gothmog, that is the very real scenario and problem with the strategy.

But some 3rd party transformers company do this "release a fix with a future release" thing, and either the manufacturer or retailers have always done a great job of getting the fixed part to original customers as well. If Asmus is going this far I think they will send plenty of extra bodies. I believe the strategy of releasing it with another product is because of how production runs work and the logistics of shipping out lots of new stuff. They will likely include the fixed body with the new figure and simultaneously send spare fixed bodies to retailers so that they can he distributed to customers who bought witch king and aren't getting gothmog, assuming this does all happen with gothmog.

It seems the joints on the hips are too loose to hold up the weight of the metal stuff and the solution was to use electrical tape to reinforce said joints.

I've already heard a number of people say they are not buying Gothmog. It could also be ASMUS trying to get people to buy Gothmog.

I am on the fence about Gothmog, I have a preorder down on it just because I really like the way it looks. I am very eager to see them release some of the core characters. I am excited to get my Witch King

I won't be getting Gothmog. I have the SSW statue and for that character that is good enough for me. I'm even thinking about giving the axe to this figure.

Is that the one where he's riding a warg?

I'll be getting Gothmog. He looks cool, and he was one of my favorite creature/villains from ROTK.

I am curious to see what Asmus does next. I thought we'd have the 3rd figure announced already. I'm hoping for Saruman. Though I don't know how well Asmus does human sculpting.

That would be the one. :rock

He does look cool. Gothmog just isn't one I want to double dip on.

I'm surprised we haven't heard what figure three is for sure going to be based on the list they put out.

Yeah, they announced Gothmog not too long after Witch-king had been announced. Could just not be ready. dunno

Got him today. Impressed with this guy, his size, base, helmet etc. His clothes out the box are a nightmare though lol so much futzing required. All in all im finally glad to have something LOTR related in my 1/6 collection. I may pick gothmog up pending final pics and what not.

The electrical tape as everyone said is pants, more or less unable to move his legs forward/back. He displays fine and i was never going to put him in any dynamic poses like but it Still doesn't make it acceptable
The Iron man hands are a bit podgy if you ask me. Im using them as i wanted to have him pointing sort of at his next victim and they are the only hands i could do it with.

Some snaps from my phone seeing as my camera is dead.

I was hoping for a a tease by now as well. IIRC they posted something like being 70% done with Aragorn so I'm thinking he's next. Probably going to get Gothmog but Aragorn will be a definite unless it turns out absolutely horrible.

ETA I actually forgot what someone posted on OSW the other day. This individual said they heard it was going to be Gandalf The White.

YES!! Mine just shipped from AE. He should arrive on the 1st.

Gimil will be intresting. He has a lot of armor/chainmail so if the do real metal for most of it he will be very heavy.

I could see Saruman and Gandalf the White coming soon. The face sculpts have the beards so they don't seem as daunting as some of the others (Merry, Pippin, Eowyn etc.) and the clothes are robes so the weight won't be an issue like it is with this one.

I am also looking forward to Theoden, Eowyn and Eomer. Hopefully they make the final cut.

Is that Alter Ego? They're in the U.S right? Wonder if that means all the U.S retailers are getting theirs? Not that it matters as mine still has to go to Canada.:gah:
