Re: Assassin's Creed 3 announced

Man, as if I wasn't already impressed enough by the land based stuff, now we find out that there're freaking naval battles at sea in the game!?! Really great stuff.

Re: Assassin's Creed 3 announced

This is easily one of my favorite serious from this generation. What a complete turnaround from the first game that was considered lackluster by a lot of people.
~~I'll be ordering whatever comes out for AC3!!!

Re: Assassin's Creed 3 announced

I think you could miss the first game, as there is enough to understand the whats going on in second game. The first one is repetitive, I started it but never finished until after brotherhood. You would miss some great games if you skip 2, brotherhood and revelations.

1 and 2 are somewhat repetitive in nature but I play AC games for their world atmosphere and historical accuracy more than anything.
Also if you decide to skip the side missions (which can get annoying) and just focus on the main story it doesn't get very repetitive... plus it's a thrill each time you kill someone (I blame the great SFX)

Now AC3
That trailer is possibly my favorite trailer of E3 so far. And the naval battles look amazing!:clap

Re: Assassin's Creed 3 announced

i thought the third one was its own story and own time period nothing to do with the others.

There is an ongoing story set in the modern day that the game keeps cutting to. This started in the first game and will apparently conclude in AC3. So you kind of need to play them all for that to make sense.

Also, the 5th game (AC Revelations) also flashes back and concludes the story of the main character in the 1st game (AC1) so Revelations will be odd to play if you skip the first game as has been suggested in a couple of posts here.....

Re: Assassin's Creed 3 announced

This looks really good, but the frame rate is a bummer to me. It must be dipping into the teens at times cause it seems choppy and stuttery here and there. It may get smoothed out by launch, but it could just be too much for these busted old machines to handle.
