I wouldn't have recommended skipping the original AC game. I think all the games are important to understanding the series, as a whole, that much better. Sure you could read about it, but it's not the same.
AC3 looks to have the most impressive combat system yet, running kills and weapon grabs.
I've always liked the combat in the AC games, but AC3 looks like it will be even more cooler :yess:

I wonder if we can do the "jumping bow shot" they showed in the trailer. That looked crazy cool :D

The only one that I've beat is II, I've got pretty large chunks of Assassin's Creed 1 and Brotherhood cut out, and I've yet to play Revelations. III is definitely one of my most anticipated games right now. Tied with The Last of Us for my top spot.

Watched the gameplay, it looks really good. Still agrivates me that he's only fighting the british, makes me feel like what a black guy would feel playing a game where only black people are killed.

I'll probably get it, but i keep hoping they'll show something to how its not biased one way or the other, and they haven't :(

That was, quite possibly, the worst analogy I've ever seen on a message board forum.

:lol

Regardless, the game looks fantastic. I've yet to finish an AC game, but I hope this one will change that.

Pfft! No reason to be butt-hurt about it or take it personally or as bias. It's just a game. Hell, I'm Catholic and I've basically played 4 Assassin's Creed games now with the Church as the baddies. Didn't bother me at all.

Besides, wouldn't a character on the side of colonial freedom be fighting against British sovereignty? It only makes sense. Why care that much? :dunno

And :lol at the black guy analogy.

Really? Just like a black guy huh? No, man that's not even close.

I get it your British and don't like that they're being portrayed as a bad guy. However, during that time period they were seeing as how the Colonists were rebelling and the British Empire wanted to keep them under thumb. Why is that such an issue with it staying true to the time period?

I'm just astounded that people think a videogame centered around the Templars, developed by a FRENCH STUDIO, will somehow have an "America ****-yah" attitude around it.

It won't.

Carl - Dad who is a mason says he's insulted that the Templars are the bad guys of this game. :lol

But, but the British were the bad guys in the revolution.:dunno I get what your saying, though, it's sort of like how Hans Gruber gets aggravated when everyone thinks John Mcclane is the good guy. :nana::lol

:lol Yeah, they've basically taken the Illuminati approach in these games and made the Templars and Vatican the evil baddies. Again, it doesn't really bother me though, because I know it's fiction and hell... it makes for some very interesting stories and games. Cool with me.

And brass balls to Ubisoft who, with the first game, essentially created a story in which the hero is a Persian who assassinate's Christian targets. And they pulled this off in the shadow of 9/11 at that. Just goes to show they're more interested in making intriguing, fun games than worrying about kowtowing or hurting anyone's feelings. And I kinda dig that.

Fun Fact: The French were our allies during the Revolution. They gave us the Statue of Liberty, ya'know?:lecture

Yeah, great games that nobody should take offense of. I'm sure if I tried hard enough I could find something. :lol

I don't wanna start a thing here but how?

It perfectly relates, a brit playing a game where only brits are the enemies is exactly comperable to a black person playing a game where only black persons are the enemies. Simply an interchange of race and nationality - its a perfectly apt analogy.

A game where ONLY peoples of my nationality are killed is an issue for me, just like a game where only people of one race were killed would have members of that race feel unnerved, what should it matter to you care how i feel?

You do realize this all happened about 235 years ago, right, and that the people of both nations are quite different today?

Unless you want to come across the pond and impose sovereignty on the people here, you have nothing in common with the British in this game. Conversely, people here don't have to literally fight for our basic freedoms anymore. We live in immeasurably different times.

It's a GAME, based on history centuries old, with fictional accounts. You're going out of your way to be butt-hurt about this.

Eh, they're Video Games, don't let it bother you, you don't see Pedestrians protesting Grand Theft Auto (do you?).

I'm upset at these games, because I'm an atheist and don't wan't all this religious crap in it.

:cuckoo:

Actually, this is my favorite game series. How many times have russians been portrayed as bad guys in games/movies? You don't see them crying. :lol

Good point. And some of those take place NOW, and not 24 decades ago.

Hell, many Americans who will be playing the game have direct lineage to ancestors who were probably redcoats during those times. Nova is just being silly. :lol

I deleted my post guys, i don't wanna get into arguments.

I'll just say it unnerves me to have only my nationality as the enemy despite the setting, and Ask that you simply understand my position & i'll leave at that :peace :wave
