You guys need to remember that Chris has always come through in the past. And all of his posts leading up to his disapearance had nothing in them leading me to believe he was just going to leave us all high and dry.

My personal feeling is that something has happened to Chris. Anything from just his computer crashing to him being injured. In any case, I doubt most people make it a priority to let the online community know if they've been hurt or that their computer died. I know I wouldn't at least. I'm sure I'm not the only one with a life outside of the board.

So lets continue to give Chris the benefit of the doubt. There are a million reasons why he isn't responding right now, but I think he will when he gets a chance.

If you do, I may enjoy that vicariously, since I couldn't get to Tennessee to file a small claims suit against the company that ripped me off. I hope that you can get justice out of this one way or the other. I know you are an honest, decent guy, and didn't deserve that. But in a more general sense, people just shouldn't do this to each other, period.

Agreed. I think Chris started this with really good intentions. But you know what they say about the road to hell and good intentions.

It will all come to a head soon enough. Just got to wait it out, and that is the toughest part of it.

Sorry, munch. I have to disagree with you here. Chris has not always come through in the past. There are a great number of people waiting for stuff to be sent that could have easily been sent long ago. And everything about his posts has been leading to this. I know from personal experience that he has been giving empty promise after empty promise for a long time in each and every one of his threads.

Take Maximus for example. He posted at least three times that he was going to show off new photos. He never did. Or how about House. Those were supposed to be shipped by now according to Mr. Howes. Has anyone received one?

I found out after I started this thread that Chris has a history going back almost a year of cutting off communication with people who have paid for items and never received them.

I think we are being more than fair to him right now. We are all waiting for him to speak, post photos, update deadlines...something. Nobody is digging a hole in the desert yet. His history of bad business is catching up to him though, so don't be surprised if over the next week things get heated. He is doing it to himself by lack of contact. And this is not a recent thing, it is habitual and very telling to say the least.

I disagree. If he can respond to people today - as someone posted his email he had sent, he has the ability and time to come here and put out this ^^^^ storm. But he hasn't. And that's wrong.

He was going to post pics of the finished item, is what I took that to mean, so we could comment, I presume, before he finished casting, started the production line, painted the items, packed the items, before shipping them off.

Not all of us wanted his paintjob. He said weeks ago he would be shipping out the unpainted casts soon. He had unpainted casts on ebay months ago. He had finished the head several months ago.

In post 1092 Chris says unpainted heads started shipping on May 15th and to expect them by the end of the next week. Here it is almost a month later, and no heads have been delivered. Has anyone received an unpainted House head? I haven't, and that is what I paid for.

Interestingly enough, in the posts right below that you can see where Chris had promised to post pictures of two swords, updated armor shots, and a shot of the roughed out Maximus head. He never delivered, and was called out on it. In the very next post he calls himself a bad, bad man and promises on his first born child to post them that very night. 5-15...May 15th...but he never posted those photos.

Actually he did post a pic the next day after I kept bugging him about it, but it was the same WIP shot of the details on the chest armor he had already posted some time before

I understand, but, you see, I strive to make the "sign up n' pay before it's done" thing a sure bet for my customers. That's the only point I wanted to make. I aims to please....

You are just helping to spread fear at this point, because if you read that particular post it doesn't mention the date May 15th. It says "Expect unpainted ones to start arriving over the next week." I take 'expect' as a term of hope. That he was hoping to start shipping them soon.

If you read on through the thread, which I am not because I don't have the time right now, you can see where his plans changed, and he repainted another sculpt to address concerns over the first painted head he had shown. If it had been me, I would have changed my intention and plans too. I would have waited till I had everyones sculpt, unpainted and painted, and double checked the list, before shipping them all at once and crossing one commission off the books. As well as that he opened the door to last minute entries, further delaying his intended wish.

I'm just observing this as a fence sitter at this point. I don't want to buy into the fear that is being spread by this thread. Myself, I am concerned with the House commission. This commission I view as a test of Chris Howes abilities. It came together quickly, no nonsense or fuss. It was one where he could use to show case his business nous. Even from what I have mentioned, you can see the amount of work, besides just sculpting a persons want, it takes to get just one, easy, fast tracked item to the consumer, as well as being satisfied with the outcome of ones art. The sculpting, painting, collection of funds, organisation of dealing with individual wants, setting up data bases and keeping people informed to the best of ones ability, the time, the stress, the casting, the packaging, and making sure each individual parcel has the correct contents, the correct address, the accounting, and there's probably more. I'm not saying he's over ambitious, over optimistic, over his head, one way or the other, and I'm not taking sides here. Just want to add a little perspective to the discussion is all.

I took that "bad, bad man" phrase to be a joke. So that again is irrelevant, because it is taken out of context. That he was too busy to remeber to post some photo's, I find to be a reasonable allowance, under the circumstances.

Skewed toward a negative outcome? I agree to hold off posting any more for a few days to let this thread digest a little, but don't you dare suggest we who have voiced our opinion and vented a little are to blame for this mess.

I hope you are right, and Chris was just waiting to get all the painted heads finished so he could send out all the unpainted and painted heads at the same time. That would be fair enough. Some communication of such a plan would have been nice, but I am willing to accept the above scenario.

Point is, we can make up all the fancy scenarios we want. It doesn't change the fact that I paid over $200 to someone who is now ignoring me, and I am not alone. That is the root of this thread.
