Once again, it seems a lot of people don't fully understand what these custom projects involve. This is not a business.

when you take money from people for goods/service it IS a business.

As a relative newcomer, I gotta say some people's behavior in this thread has been nothing short of appalling and laughable.

Those of you who are getting so riled up (Seriously, the cops? That's really OK to you guys?) I would suggest stay OUT of any future commission projects like these. Clearly, you don't have the patience for them.

It's really embarrassing to read all these posts demanding and ordering.

If you really can't live without a few bucks for that length of time, don't sign up to begin with. It's really simple.

Gotta say, this man speaks with good sense.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. I don't think waiting 8 months for a sculpt is reasonable especially when I've seen near completion pics 3 or 4 months ago. In my mind I was giving it another couple months, but when I read this thread I see people who have been waiting for longer than me! How long are people supposed to be patient? Are you kidding me? We're demanding? We're WORRIED. Someone has thousands of dollars from various MEMBERS of our community and now its our fault for being like this? Again, this isn't a sudden bitter posting. This is a rally of likeminded valuable members of the collecting community who are in the same dreaded situation.

I don't need anymore progress shots of sculpts. What I need to not be worried any more is actual proof that people are receiving their items, whether its for the commission I'm waiting on or not.

In my humbled opinion Chris you'd be best served by picking one of your existing commissions and FINISHING it. Just pick the one you're closest to finishing and get it shipped ASAP so people can have faith in you again.

I won't fill up your email or pm box with this, but if you are ready to ship the River sculpt (I no longer wish for it to be painted) PM me and we will work out how to get it to me at which time I will alert all here that you completed the deal.

I paid for my custom head approx six months ago, so I win....in the lowest possible sense. :monkey2

Yeah, I paid back on December 4th. After seeing his sculpt, I just wasn't happy with it, and I asked for a refund, twice by email now. I wasn't even complaining about the timeframe, I understand a customizer's timeframe.

Really man. Not trying to dig at you, but try to see it from my side of the equation for one minute. I paid for the head two and a half months ago. He says they are shipping but my name is not on his shipping list.

How can I NOT see it from your side when (as stated) he has THREE heads he's doing for me for about $180 or so?

But apparently unlike others here, I'm willing to appreciate life situations and complications that arise and why a project like this that is a FAN SERVICE would take a backseat.

You, me, none of us was EVER guaranteed a specific shipping date, and none of us was ever guaranteed WIP pics or progress updates. If you magically think you're owed that, or are entitled to X, Y, and Z, then that's your own thing.

Long time to wait, eh. Sheet, at least you have seen a sculpt! :lol

Har Har. No offense, but the focus of this thread is to get the sculpter's attention as oppose to point out other comments that doesn't relate to the actual topic.

In other words, Chris Howes has to show some more pics of his headsculpts.

Two can play this game

:lol

I like you. :wave

REALITY CHECK.

I'm sorry but you know who offers "FAN SERVICE". Look up a great fellow named Dorgmal Snow on the board. He made MANY items for people for FREE. And items that take a lot more individual effort than sculpting and recasting some tiny head.

Selling items is a BUSINESS and just because he's not making $100,000s doesn't make it any less of one. And as a business you don't get free reign to take people's money and ignore requests for refunds and just follow through on deals whenever.

He said to us all in the House thread a month ago that things were starting to ship. Now, here, he says he's just starting to send them out. The head was finished months ago. If he has the time to create ebay pages and continue the selective communication BS - answering to those who want to buy heads, ignoring people requesting any sort of update (proof of this selective communication can be seen in this thread where he ignores TheTerminators requests for a refund), he should have the time to send out what people have paid for since November. And if he's way too busy to drive to the post office, ATLEAST give any sort of update to those who are asking for one. Do I need to buy another House head on ebay in order to get into communication with him to ask what's up?:duh

Fairly negative...but it has been six months since I paid with no update whatsoever as to the progress.

OK, how are you in the position to tell me his statements about workload are true?

It's called giving someone the benefit of the doubt, and realizing that our DOLLS aren't the most important things in life. ;)

And again, no one can give me an answer about how being so negative is doing any good at all. Go back and re-read this thread, and it's all rumor and slander and innuendo and people start panicking and grab the pitchforks at the drop of a hat.

I'm not saying that the lack of communication has been ideal. But that's a far cry from immediately making the leap to thinking the worst of someone just because you feel you're "owed" pictures of a doll that someone is helping you with as, essentially, a favor.

Its not a doll head I'm owed. Its $35 worth of service. Its the equivalent of 2 weeks of gas to get me to my employment. Its 4 or 5 days of eating. Its 15 days worth of utilities. Its something I can lend to a friend in a desperate situation. And I'm on the low end of the amount lent out.

It's called giving someone the benefit of the doubt, and realizing that our DOLLS aren't the most important things in life. ;)

I know they're not. Was just making the point that it could be an excuse. Did not say it was, but you cannot deny it could be a possibility.

Six months paid. No update. Rumour?

no they are not, but they ARE our hobby, and as such ARE important in that context.

there is no good, but people have a right to ^^^^^ and moan, and they are!

On Chris's web site for the heads/ etc he states that he will UPDATE the movie pictures, for photos of the sculpts. Plus I would like to see photos regularly as I am PAYING for the sculpt!

This seems to be something you're misunderstanding other people saying.

The fact that Chris is taking money for sculpts, and apparently isn't commincating in any way that could be seen as acceptable behaviour for a businessman, which is what he is] by doing this, is what people are getting upset about.

It doesn't seem to me that people are getting the pitchforks and torches out, they're just voicing their frustration and anger at having little to no communication or updates, after being given excuse after excuse for things which can be taken care of so easily.

But then again, that's just my two pennies.
