Don't accept the money until you know you can finish the project at a reasonable time.
I urge people not to buy from him. I hate people that don't communicate and when they are pushed in a corner, come back a give a quack of a reason. You are making money and posting your creation on this board is a form of free advertisement for you business.
And don't play the victim.

If its an email addy problem and you dont want to drop your domain change the bit before the '@' sign

and then put it as your Sideshow Freaks, One Sixth Warriors, Men with Dolls accounts

That way, you can receive PM's without fear of your email address being announced to Russian Spammers

Surely a sympathetic Mod would increase your PM box capacity ??? but youd also have to answer PM's and delete them to maintain the box also

Im guessing you have control over your own domain ?

I try and keep out of things like this - I have paid for a couple of Summers and have a small stake in it.

However I know that the more time artists have to spend answering PMs and emails and posting updates, the less time they have to do the actual work.

I would suggest that Chris post an update list of all the outstanding projects here on the board or email it to a single individual and they can post it and then he can just send the link to anyone asking about a project.

But it's important that people remain informed, especially if they've already paid - I know there's nothing more annoying than constant "are we there yet?" emails, but reasonable requests for updates can't just be ignored.

OK, I'm trying to be discreet. I'm not about screwing with peoples reputations like some are. The person you are referring to has an ax to grind. And has been engaging in less than savory behavior that is somewhat more criminal than what you have been lead to believe about me. Yet you don't hear me identifying and badmouthing him. I could reveal some things, but, for now, I remain restrained in this matter. I tend not to be vindictive.

It's not just one person.

And I haven't cut off contact with anyone. I have posted AGAIN and AGAIN how to send me a simple email.

Again, more than one person sent me a PM after I started this thread saying that it was impossible to get you to respond to emails. Get a free email account already! Enough of this russian spammer business.

That's why I ask (dare I say it again? Again and Again) for folks to use a simple subject line like "Hello" when emailing me. My only other option is to drop my domain which, as you can imagine, I'm not particularly happy about doing.

It's hard when your email account is down for more than a week, your PM box is full and you haven't been on the forums for two weeks. What are we supposed to think! I am still waiting on you to respond to my email that was sent per your instructions with the simple subject line "House."

So, here I am "re-establishes contact" though I didn't realize I had ever severed it. Just working around the clock as I have mentioned.

Cool. Then you can post massive updates of all your outstanding commissions like you have been promising to for weeks.

Well I, for one, are glad you're back and look forward to my Lone Gunmen and Sawyer. :) Glad you're okay.

Thank you my friend! I appreciate that. BTW, Sawyer will have a companion head!

I'm sorry there are those who don't understand. Please read this carefully:

If you don't see me around here for a while, do not assume I have "disappeared". I'm working diligently. Over the next couple of weeks there are going to be some surprises for those of little faith...(here's a clue.... I keep mentioning that I've been working my butt off....what could that mean?)

I'm going to go get a Coke and get back to work. Stay tuned for further developments. :D

Actually, what you mention is a good idea. I was thinking of creating a blog, a one stop clearing house, if you will, where I can post updates. That way I'm not trying to respond all the time. It really does eat through your time! But that means people will actually need to read about it and then go to it....

NOW I'm getting a Coke and getting back to work..... not disappearing! Just getting back to it!

This is so arrogant. "Those of little faith."

Your response is not accepted. What I am hearing is more of the same smoke you have been blowing for months, with no results. I want updates, or I want a refund. I am not waiting for a couple more weeks for you to update anything with pictures you promised a couple of months ago. This is beyond ridiculous now.

Your responses are really, really turning me off to you as a sculptor.

Why would you waste even more time building a blog when you can post photos and a timeline for completion of your projects right in this very thread?

You are not winning over the customers who are tired of the same old lines. Why don't you answer my email? Where is Maximus? Where is House? What happened to he almost finished Lost Boys head? Creating a blog won't do any good, because you have shown a chronic inability to communicate.

Update, or refund. Don't let this get any more out of hand.

Vague responses and promises about the future are not going to please anyone. At this point the time lost sculpting is well worth it to reassure your patrons with specifics.

People should start filing PayPal claims instead of wasting time posting in this thread.
A large number of claims would get the attention of Mr. Howes much more quickly.

Good idea! It's definitely needed. Hey, how about a sticky Chris' backlog situation (for the uninitiated) thread? Then he can sort things out like Les has been doing.

I always find it makes things more difficult during a disagreement when a person simply will not admit doing any wrong. I think that would go a long way in making things get better faster.

And remember, don't get cocky! There's always someone better and faster than you out there. -C. Howes

Problem is you only have 45 days to file a paypal claim, from what I can see it is way past that just about everyone....

The problem is, Chris took the money so long ago that a paypal claim is out of the question. I have been on the phone with my credit card to see if a chargeback can be filed. I am afraid the only other recourse is to sue in small claims court if Chris's attitude doesn't change. I am fully prepared to do that.

Chris, give Terminator a refund. He has asked twice, very simply, in this thread. If you don't refund him it adds to the reputation you are building for yourself.

Sometimes the people here scare me. But then I read the following post and my faith in SSF is restored.

As a relative newcomer, I gotta say some people's behavior in this thread has been nothing short of appalling and laughable.

Those of you who are getting so riled up (Seriously, the cops? That's really OK to you guys?) I would suggest stay OUT of any future commission projects like these. Clearly, you don't have the patience for them.

It's really embarrassing to read all these posts demanding and ordering.

If you really can't live without a few bucks for that length of time, don't sign up to begin with. It's really simple.

Gotta say, this man speaks with good sense.

As a relative newcomer, we will forgive your ignorance of the situation.

Seriously though... 5 or 6 months is not that long of a wait. I agree C Howes should (and most customizers) should have better lines of communication. But you must be pretty new to the game yourself if you expected results in a matter of weeks.. Especially considering that for a while people have been spamming the boards with C Howes commission threads.

My experience has been this: The better the customizer the longer the wait period.

I am just glad that I can still get a Summer HS. Too much garbage to go thru in this thread with all the mud slinging and frustration. Hope all gets cleared up and peeps get what they ordered. These types of situations sour more than just a few and can affect others who have no connection/contact with the major players.
