So true. But didn't care for the 3D. It had it's moments, but otherwise it looked off.

I think what helped Avatar was the bright, almost neon colors of alot of it.

Avatar's CGI was never the problem. The speticle was lost because there was no pretty 3D to distract you from the dull dull unoriginal storyline.

I liked Avatar, but I sure didn't go ape**** over it like some did. To some it was like a drug.

I could still tell I was looking at CG and have seen better CG animated Japanese films, so not sure how it revolutionized anything.

It revolutionized how ticket sales can nearly double in price thanks to the 3D gimmick upcharge

I mean really. Why in the heck do we through those glasses in the bin after we're done? How is that 'recyling?' They keep charging me for those same glasses each time! I really want to try one day to say, "No thanks, I'll just pay the standard price. I brought my own glasses I saved from last time" just to see what they'd do

I'm with Nolan on this one. 3D is just a gimmick. Hopefully it will be gone by the end of the decade and the Imax Empire will take its place

They do this at my local cinema. Pay for their glasses once and then re-use them and just pay the standard ticket price.
