Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

I expect to see more Whedonites from his past films in a sequel in all honesty. I'd be more looking for someone like Amy Acker or Summer Glau to play Wasp than anyone else. :lol

The only whedonite I wouldn't mind as Wasp is Morena Baccarin. She'd be great IMO.

Gellar's show tanked, they might as well throw her in there :lol

Joss Whedon to 'Avengers' Fans: Don't Expect a "Happy Ending"

Joss Whedon made the media rounds at the Toronto International Film Festival in support of his personal side project Much Ado About Nothing, an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play that Whedon filmed with close friends and collaborators. But in virtually every interview given, Whedon had to comment on Marvel, and his plans for an Avengers sequel.

Earlier, we pointed out how Whedon gave his blessing to Super director James Gunn and his “very twisted take” on the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy film. “It all comes from a real love for the material," Whedon told MTV. "It's going to be hard for the humans to keep up. I know he's going to come from left field and I'm going to go, 'What?' and then, 'Of course, why didn't I think of that?'”

Shortly after, Whedon sat down with 24 Hours, a Vancouver outlet, and talked about the behind-the-scenes process on The Avengers 2 and the other Marvel movies that tie directly into his vision. And while he can not talk specifics of what he plans to do with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Whedon had this to say about the next chapter in the franchise’s story:

“The creation of the team is not the happy ending. It is the beginning of something that is complex and difficult, and now I get to dig a little deeper. And maybe, while I'm digging, just twist that knife. And that's exciting for me."

How do you think Whedon will twist the knife? Should we strap in for the Empire Strikes Back of comic-book movies, where our heroes are drained, damaged and scattered to the far reaches of the galaxy by picture’s end? Needless to say, we can’t wait to see what Whedon and his team have in store for the Avengers sequel, which won’t be in theaters until 2015.

Um. Wow. I actually expected that since I'm sure Thanos will have something to do with that "knife." Hence, we'll have to wait until TA3 to finally see how everything all unfolds... But that is a VERY long time from now!

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

I think it's great! I'm hoping we see what happens in the sequel affect the lives of all the heroes through "Phase 3."

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

If its like ESB where the bad guys win a round to only lose the next that might work. Will have to play this news out by ear.

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

Can't wait to see Guardians, but will skip Avengers 2 until it's on TV.

I've seen all the individual films and the team come together already, i'd much rather see new individual films and team film for other Marvel characters that haven't had films yet, now that'd be cause for excitement.
