Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

It fooled a nation. :dunno

That's not revolutionizing. It's actually not hard to do that at all, especially considering that it wasn't really doing anything other than talking into the camera.

Of course people aren't going to believe that 9ft blue catpeople are real, but they still made them look real. And if you want to have something real to compare to they did the environment in CG as well.

EDIT: And again, you said you've seen Japanese films with better CG---prove it

WOW, and I thought Khev was an Avatard. I don't care how deep you pretend, it was blatantly obvious that the Na'vi were CG. Sure they looked "realistic" in their own environment, but their own environment looked very much CG. As for the Japanese movie, I believe it was the Final Fantasy one.

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

Again--yeah, it's obvious when they're blue, but then you consider things like when he was running through the field and the way his feet interact with the soil, or the shots of Ney'tiri in the forest as she's watching him. Looks completely realistic.

FFVII doesn't look real at all obviously, not even the animation--not even close. If you mean The Spirits Within--again, not even close in any area.

So come up with an actual example---except you can't because there isn't one.

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

Yeah, if Nam is referencing 2001's Final Fantasy movie the CG isn't even close to Avatar or even some current day video games.

There were a number of dodgy shots in Avatar but when Jake and Neytiri are hunting in the rain and when Jake is praying to Ewya the CG is perfect even three years later.

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

Avatar was good but NOT that good. The visuals made the movie stunning.

TA was a way better film and I'm looking forward to the sequel! Nuff said! :wink1:

Transformers had more impressive CGI. As they had to make those bots look real, in real environments. And they looked real.

Paul was great. **** everyone!

:lol

But yes, the CGI in Paul was really good.

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

Yeah because there has never been an actor who has played a superhero they didn't know much of anything about.

I realize that, but she wants to play a character blindly just because Joss is involved. She at least ought to know of the character before saying "pick me!" Just makes her look stupid.

You do realize how many of the Marvel/DC movie actors didn't know the source material, right? :lol

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

Yeah, but I think most of them have at least heard of Batman or the Hulk :lol

Granted Wasp isn't as big as them, but someone shouldn't be begging for a job without knowing what it is. I mean, you don't walk into a job interview like that. :dunno

You do when it pays out like Avengers. :lol

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

:lol

I really hope we do get a superhero female in the mix for Avengers 2. I have a feeling it will be Wasp since she should be in the Ant Man film.

The Wasp should be an interesting mix. I just wonder of she'll clash with Widow. After all, spiders and wasps don't mix well in the natural world. :lol

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

I expect to see more Whedonites from his past films in a sequel in all honesty. I'd be more looking for someone like Amy Acker or Summer Glau to play Wasp than anyone else. :lol
