Oh, this so needs to happen now! :lol

I think Avengers was a very good movie in many ways, it just wasn't innovating in many others.

I've seen people see the limitations of Whedon in here, but I've seen it a lot more in other places.

This.

Whedon is a "safe" choice. I don't know how he got the job in the end, but I wasn't particularly excited nor was I disappointed. I'm indifferent to him. I think he's a SOLID director and has respect for the source material given he comes from that nerdy, pop-culture background and has been involved in comics for years. But he doesn't "wow" me like other directors have. I do give him credit for putting together an excellent movie in "The Avengers", but I can't happen to think that several other directors could've done it better...which brings me to the Russo's.

The Russo Bros. are the ones that have really come out as the grand-slam winners, Marvel obviously saw it as they've been hired to direct BOTH Cap 3 and the Avengers 3: Parts I & II. 'The Winter Soldier' is arguably among the BEST Marvel movies and I'd also state perhaps the 'ideal' cinematic portrayal of Cap as most comic fans envision him. I'm actually more excited to see their take on the Avengers.

I really liked Winter Soldier, but I don't get where it's being held up as a marvel of directing enough to get people pushing to have the director's do other projects, I'm not against them taking on Avengers 3 but I just don't understand what stands out so much about them.

I also don't hold Whedon to any pedistal other than I will say, of any attempts I've ever seen to make so many characters a focal point in a movie and so many failures, what he did with the Avengers was unbelievable and was one of the main things I walked away from seeing that movie and being excited about, usually there's always that feeling of, if only they gave so and so more time or better time, I felt like it was all well done and balanced and the editing and composition of the final battle worked out great.

I agree about Whedon. He managed to mix humour with seriousness very well and that is why The Avengers did so well IMO. I don't know how he did it so well. It was smart funny and exciting (albeit very TV-ish in it's execution visually) But I'm currently not impressed with Russo Bros. Really great action sequences, but that was it for me with Winter Soldier. I found it pretty charmless for a Marvel movie.

Doesn't this come out overseas this week? We should be getting feedback soon, right?

24 more days for me!!!

The new (and final) trailer looks awesome! I kind of wished that I stayed away from the previews, but I suck at waiting.

Don't like how Black Widow is using Cap's shield. She seemed like the focus of it too.

Good luck trying to make Black Widow cool... hopefully the "she's with us" line is actually about Scarlet Witch :lol

Glad they added Quicksilver to the group scene :rock

It was a weird clip as a trailer, feels more like an extended TV spot, trailers don't usually focus on one character like that and it was black widow focused at the end for some reason.

That trailer makes this movie looks almost like CAP 3 more than Avengers, focusing on Widow and Cap teaming up again.

I think it's weird how they seem headed towards possible romance between Banner and Romanov when she spends so much time with Cap.
