Does anyone else wonder if they're going to try and pull off the whole vision and scarlet witch romance in the sequel?

Civil War has to set up the registration act, Bucky's comeback, SHIELD's comeback, probably integrate Ant-Man, introduce Spiderman...

Going to be a busy movie.

Exactly what I was thinking, I prefer them to add moments instead of a half assed romance. I mean that moment with Vision saving her was great, no dialog needed, it was natural

Hold on. I'll find something scathing written by a fetus that will change your 6 year old's mind and make him think the whole thing was lame. It's important.

:lol

Watched it again last night, the last scene between Vision and Ultron is absolutely my favorite character moment. There was so much *character* in that Utlron drone, which was amazing considering that that one did not have animated facial features. Just the way he bobbed his head when he said "you are so UNBEARABLY [head bob] naive..." So much of Spader's "humanity" came through in the delivery and animation. One of the best scenes in any cbm, IMO..

I think the fact that Vision was the one to save her in the final battle was telling. I reckon it'll play out during Civil War.

But after Civil War, when they get back to the Avengers in Infinity War, they may play this out. Also in Starks dream of the future, when all of the Avengers were dead, none of the new Avengers were there so this new team and other members will probably make a difference in the whole Thanos face off.

Vision flying thru the debris field to save SW was jaw dropping gorgeous.

The cgi, which had me initially concerned, ended up being excellent. Hulk's skin..sheesh!

Stark's fluid POV attack on the hydra base also stood out for me in a good way.

Can't wait to see it again tomorrow ....there is someone lying prone during Tony's vision that I didn't recognize. Need to get a better look.

I liked Ultron's vulnerability.

I like that the movie is not as bright and slow as the first.

I liked the conflicting ideology making a mess of things.

This movie will benefit from additional scenes fleshing out the character arcs.

But I don't want the action slowed down!

Ah your nuts ;) Pacing was much better in the first and not slow at all... Quickest 2 hr and 10 min on film.. (Ok I don't know if it's the quickest but whenever I watch it I can't get over how fast it goes by)

If Vision is still alive for Infinity Wars. He's powered by one of the gems afterall.

Paul steals the movie the second he's born. All I could think with that shot was that they out-Supermanned Superman.

I just saw it a second time. Hulks on top speared through the abdomen and dying(breathing heavily), Widow underneath already dead, Hawkeye dead but sitting up beside her, Thor below them, Cap at the bottom.

Agreed, the Hulk's facial animation during the Veronica sequence was SO good. I like that the premiere "money shot" of Avengers 1 was that single take of all the Avengers fighting throughout New York and that Avengers 2 OPENS with a similar shot as they charge HYDRA. Talking about upping the ante the very first minute. And then that moment where they are all defending the core is just beautiful. Iron Man and Vision flying in and out of frame, just awesome.

I really REALLY like Ultron. To me he's a really conflicted character. He has his prime directive or whatever you want to call it to bring peace which according to his computer mind means whiping everyone out but he also clearly favors companionship and stimulating discussion. Even his opening line about killing Jarvis "not my first call, he was a good guy" or whatever it was. And he obviously feels "pain" at losing his world and so forth which ignites a desire for revenge but doesn't make him go all emo or boo hoo-ey about it. He was just cool.

Whedon's a baby for whining to the press over studio input on the film. Boo hoo, your dream job of making superhero movies into global events requires you to play with others. Go invent your own characters if you want final cut Joss. Let's see how they do.

Yeah I really love how Whedon wrote Ultron in the film, it's one of the more thoughtful (if not the most thoughtful) depiction of his character that I've seen, be it in the comics or in the cartoons. I find him fascinating because he clearly desires companionship. I think his fear of death really adds a lot of humanity to his mentality, as it essentially drives him to want to surpass his limits under the assumption that humanity would doom itself (I guess he thinks he's just speeding up that process). I do like how he recognizes that what he's doing can be viewed as evil, rather he's set on the fact that it's the necessary choice to be made when looking at the bigger picture of bringing "true" peace on Earth. There's a certain tragedy to him being tasked to bring peace on Earth, as such a programming would naturally drive anyone mad and frustrated when given free reign over accessing knowledge of the human race.

Just did a search and found out FRIDAY (new Jarvis) is actually voiced by Kerry Condon. Not sure how I feel about the voice still. No where near as unique as Paul's. Stark had a handful of chips when he picks the FRIDAY one for upload, so I'm thinking maybe they'll change it up if people aren't feeling her.
