I certainly hope this casting rumor is true... looks like they are looking at Elizabeth Olsen for the role of Scarlet Witch.

On the topic of ant man.

The ant man they're doing is appearently not hank Pam, but is instead Eric O'Grady ( the more likely one) or Scott Lang.

I'm not sure that's accurate. In this interview, he specifically refers to Pym:

https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/3781902

Nevermind, for some reason, I thought this was the Ant-Man film. :lol

You're right:

Is that a nice thing about "Ant-Man"? In that people know who he is, but not really.

I think there's something in that it's a lesser known character, there's hopefully more license. For the one percent of people who are like, "Wait, Hank Pym would never do that!" there's 99 percent going, "Who's Hank Pym?" So, to me, the source material is great but it also frees you up to be like: I'm going to make a movie. The movie is not going to represent 50 years of Marvel comics because that's impossible. But I'm going to make a 100 minute movie -- or 110 minutes [laughs].

Seems like they're going with Hank Pym to me. :huh

IMDb even has this as the synopsis:
Biochemist Dr. Hank Pym uses his latest discovery, a group of subatomic particles, to create a size-altering formula. Though his first self-test goes awry, he develops an instrument that helps him communicate with and control insects.

IT seems my information is a little dated.

Before Hank Pym fans jump to a sudden conclusion and swear to boycott this and all other Marvel films for all time, this is just speculation in an IGN article. Here, Edgar Wright confirms that Pym will appear in the film. BUT, Wright has also talked about his version of Ant Man as "a film about a 'badass secret agent' in the past. Thus, there is a small possibility that it might not be Hank Pym who actually dons the helmet and costume of Ant Man. This description isn't best suited to how we know Hank Pym to be. Instead, Ant Man might be Scott Lang, a reformed criminal who inherits Ant Man's trademark helmet and gear. Pym could just be the creator of the Pym Particles and the gear

However,

https://www.slashfilm.com/edgar-wright-confirms-hank-pym-in-ant-man/

We get a quote that Pym will be in the ant man movie....

But it is worth noting he says that pym will "crop up" in the ant man film, but dosn't say that pym will BE ant man.

Add Hulk and yes they definately should. Widow is eye...err boob candy. Antman has a thousand times more of a right to be in the next Avengers than Hawkeye. Quicksilver is just a stupid addition in every imaginable way since he can't be related to Magneto. Four main characters plus Fury running the show and a central villain and background villain is plenty. Everything else is X3 overpacked fan service.

Hawkeye has no movie of his own or background, he doesn't have any open character threads or connections to on going or upcoming events.

We're not waiting to see if he rebuilds his suits, can cope with this century, this dimension and humans etc. He's not somehow connected to Loki anymore or anything that's forseeably going to matter. Maybe he had a relationship once with Widow but so what? She's flirted/aluded to as much interest in Stark, Rogers, and even got a little flirty with Banner.

Theres literally no connections there that would even make you question his absence anymore than where was War Machine during the NYC attack.

I definitely agree with this, and feel the same about Black Widow. Other than that cool interrogation fight scene she could've been removed from the movie (I would miss the eye candy though).

I would be happy if Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch had more screentime than Hawkeye and Widow. Don't really care about either of them and at least the two new additions have powers.

Not sure if Emilia Clarke would be too old to play Kick ***'s twin sister, but I think she'd be a good Wanda.

I'd prefer more build up to Thanos than more Widow and Hakweye. Love Hawkeye in the comics/toon but in Avengers he was too serious after he returned to normal, i want the wise cracking, cocky archer if they focus on him more, but i'm not sure Renner can play that

The whole reason they're doing Ultron now is to give more build-up to Thanos.

Yeah but a little tease and lots of Widow and Hawkeye isn't building up to him imo, we need to see him in action, not against the Avengers but they need to show why and how he's gonna be a threat imo.

Most up to date info (so far)

Hawkeye and Widow will be the focal characters.

Tony Stark will return

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch have been added.

Ultron will be the villian but according to the director will have a different origin, different powerset and will be humanized.

Whedon reveals to Entertainment Weekly in this week’s cover story that he’s stripping back some of Ultron’s abilities and will find a way to humanize — to some degree — the angry bot.

“I knew right away what I wanted to do with him,” Whedon says. “He’s always trying to destroy the Avengers, goddamn it, he’s got a bee in his bonnet. He’s not a happy guy, which means he’s an interesting guy. He’s got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we’ll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic, and I already have someone [a new character, Scarlet Witch] who’s a witch.”

Whedon adds that he has to be careful “to ground [the character] while still evoking that guy.” And like a certain giant green Avenger hero, it sounds like large doses of rage will be key to his personality. “As a character I love [Ultron],” Whedon says, “because he’s so pissed off.”

I'm getting a feeling they will have Paul Bettany play Ultron. He starts of as a likable Jarvis (with a robot body now - partly recycled Dummy?) and evolves into evil Ultron.

There was more than one? Sorry I don't know much about ant man.

Eric O'Grady is a former shield agent who gets ahold of the ant man technology. We've already been told that this new ant man " used to be a bad *** secret agent.." this is why i think he might be the one they use.

Scott Lang Is a Thief who gets ahold of the technology. His major concerns are personal confort, and playing video games. In some versions ( the cartoon) he also has a sick daughter whom is his motivation be3hind stealing the ant man gear.

The ****? Humanized? Different origin? That's not Ultron.

Tieing all this together.

Perhaps Hank pym was a contemporary of HOWARD STARK in these movies. He worked with Stark, prefected his tech, and it is siezed by the military. Pym fades into obscurity. BUT NOT BEFORE WORKING ON AI Tech. the same AI tech that Tony Stark expanded on, and perfected, And used to create Jarvis.

Something goes horribly wrong, no idea what. But it Causes Jarvis to go homocidal, somehow creates, or becomes Ultron, and we have our new badguy.

This creates ties to Pym, but has a brand new origin story for Ultron separate from Pym directly. Additionaly, Jarvis is a fairly "human" AI, so this could serve as the humanizing effect that Wheedon is talking about.
Beyond that, Jarvis is intimately familior with the Iron man armor, which is likely why/how he is able to make himself a robot body.

AFTER Avengers 2, Shield looks into jarvis, finds out it was built on technology pionerred by ( a now possibly dead) Hank Pym, and digging their archives, find that they have other things invented by Pym.

Enter Eric O'Grady, who finds the suit, and tech, and after studying it, becomes our new Ant man... with the help of the EARLIER AI designed by Pym, And has archetcure based on Pym. so there is our " Appearence by Pym" we were promised.

All that is conjecture, but if I were the one holding the keys to the marvel movieverse, it's how I'd do it.
