Through Friday, Avengers: Endgame's global gross was $2.789.2 billion, $500,000 behind Avatar's $2.789.7 billion. The gap will be closed on Saturday or Sunday once weekend box office grosses are tallied (last weekend, Endgame brought in $2.8 million globally).

Has everyone finished their pre-clap?

Did it happen? Did the snap work? Did EG topple Avatar?

Going to be funny to see the #1 and #2 spots separated by like $5.

Tony on his knees, beat up and dying and all the Avengers dirty, bloody and exhausted at the end of EG perfectly captures what it took to barely beat Avatar. When I watch EG on DVD, that ending will have an extra layer of meaning after a two and a half hour viewing experience. :lol

I’m looking forward to 2021. Cameron will probably want to setup twin bill viewings of Avatar & Avatar 2 in a desperate attempt to reclaim the top spot, but the new head of Disney, Kevin Feige, will tell him “I don’t think so”.

I think both Avatar and EG will battle for the top spot several times in the future. Cameron will most likely release the film again and get the top spot, but so will Marvel as either an anniversary special release in five or ten years or as a way to get people hyped for the next big Avengers "End Game" style event years from now.

If we look at most of the films that held the "all time" record, most of those films have been re released at some point. Avatar and EG have already done it once. :lol

The Birth of a Nation
Gone with the Wind
The Sound of Music

I wonder if Disney's thought was to push EG to #1 in order to use that tagline when marketing the blu-ray and then will turn around and re-release Avatar to put that back at #1 in order to use that to market Avatar 2. Could be a smart way to go.

Avatar is an underrated masterpiece that should be # 1. EG was cool and all back when it came out, but I don't think holds up anymore. I remember loving it in theaters a long time ago, but it's time a new film gets the # 1 spot.

So I’ve seen the bootlegged tony snap scenes on YouTube many times now. And in different resolutions

So did Tony as a backup make a Nano option on his Mark 85 to have the stones fit on his 85 glove . I always thought he used the Nano gauntlet he made but Thanos had the Nano gauntlet in the end that Hulk used right?

I thought it was odd how Tony had the the stones grip onto his regular glove for the snap. Could that also be the reason he got fried as well as the initial gamma energy the Nano gauntlet gave to Hulk and Thanos :dunno

Would’ve Tony still died if he used the original Nano gauntlet

Would like to see a fan-edit where they replace Thanos with that blue guy from Avatar fighting Stark for the gauntlet....

I just realized, I don't remember any of the names of the characters in Avatar.

You don't remember Nativity and Scully? What about Ripley or ...the big tree? SMH...:tap

Ah Scully... I was thinking it was Sully.... But then I realized it was the wrong blue guy:

Nativity, I honestly don't remember. Was Sigourney Weaver Ripley? :rotfl

I'd have to Google the cast to remember all that.

Those truly are some epic posts from Khev and Clown.

Newly found Avatar respect lol

Avengers bloodied defeat of Avatar lol

“Whatever it takes” instantly took on a whole meaning.

I is in tears.

Since Cameron thinks that the studio itself deserves all the credit then when Avatar is re-released and reclaims the #1 spot Bob Iger should post:

"Congratulations to Disney for reclaiming the box office crown!

--Disney"

lol

That doesn't even look like a congratulatory letter or image. It's more like one of Cameron's own personal psychopathic fantasy sketches he drew on his personal journal Patrick Bateman style as EG was getting closer to breaking his record.
