The Russos don’t deserve acknowledgement. I’ve just been watching Community for the first time.

Meanwhile, ‘memba when everyone thought TFA would beat Avatar.

I think JC might not respect the Russo bros as filmmakers. From his POV, they're jus a wheel in the marvel machine, with very little creative control. That may not be the reality, but there's this perception that the MCU is like a factory, with a lot films having a similar tone, look and feel, and even sharing the same second unit directors taking care of certain aspects of the films. It's probably why Cameron doesn't view the Russo bros on the same level as Spielberg, Lucas or himself. Probably why he congratulated Feige instead too.

I was about to post something similar. The moviegoing public don't know/care who directs Marvel blockbusters, whereas Cameron, Lucas, Spielberg etc. are respected in their own right.

Cameron isn't on the level of Lucas and Spielberg. Two decades into Spielberg's career Jurassic Park didn't need to say "From the director of E.T." on the poster, lol.

And he isn't stupid enough to think that the MCU is a factory and that for IW/EG they simply pressed the "Bring a bunch of superheroes together beat Avatar" button. If there was such a button WB would have already pushed it, lol.

Feige's guidance cannot be denied but a simple "'Congratulations to Kevin Feige, Joe and Anthony Russo, and everyone else at Marvel Studios on your unprecedented cinematic achievement. We *all* see you.' --Jim Cameron" is all he had to do. But his bitterness and ego just wouldn't allow it, lol.

Oh well then there have been many more references to Thanos today than that one Heath Ledger gif, lol. ;)

I would hope so, since Thanos just had the biggest movie in history open 4 months ago.

Ledger's Joker is 11 years old... and people still reference him often, in this case just off one word: six.

No way Thanos has that kind of staying power. People will still be talking about Ledger's Joker in another 10 years but I doubt too much about Thanos. The fact that's he's a CGI cartoon doesn't help him in the long run. I think people will talk more about the 'snap' than Thanos.
