The base is set up and the lights installed. Here's how she turned out. Really happy with it. Picture is kind of off angle, so it warped some of the lines. It's straight as an arrow in person. There are black toggle switches above "lighting" and "engines". Just can't see those in the picture.

That's awesome. Now you can keep an eye on the Romulan neutral zone from the comfort of your EZ Boy.

Mind you warp is busted. Not even impulse drive and the screen is not even touchscreen and interactive all just setup for this shot just because lol

I just read this whole thread! Awesome work and Kudos for sticking with it. The D is a beauty and always was my favorite!

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the comments. It's good to see people appreciate the work that goes into something like this. Makes you want to finish it. :)

This is seriously unbelievable work! I have one question. When are you selling it to me?

:lol I don't think anyone would be willing to pay what I'd need to get, to qualify the work I had to put into it. This may be approaching 500 hours by now, with learning how to do LED's, etc. I have been pretty meticulous about it. It's my first LED lit model, and I had to go through the process in full. I think I have $400 - $450 in parts, kits, mods, lights, supplies, glue, paint, wood etc. and the stellar acrylic base I commissioned with Matt at Laserfirecreations. There's a lot put into one of these. It's not a hobby for the budget conscious modeler, that's for sure.

So if one were to take on this project with you by there side you see this be more manageable ;)
Like when I used to do graphics it took me 4hrs to do it and then I would loose it all out of stupidity and then doing it again took only an hour...
eversince I started this hobby of collecting the "D" has been on my mind... getting the MR Falcon was one grail but this is the other must have for me :(

Man now you did it.....
Got me all wound up about finding this grail .... LOL
Since it is looking less and less likely I will ever build my own model and it looking good and buying yours is not an option (I would be disappointed if you ever parted with your creation for any amount of money ;)) this seems to be the best I could afford:

That's not very expensive, and it looks pretty nice. You'd be hard pressed to build it less than twice that amount, if you don't have any of the parts and supplies. I would have saved a lot of time, money and stress to have bought one of those myself. :)

Hey, Avenger. I just saw this thread when looking to post picture of the new Aoshima Enterprise D. I am glad you did not smash up the model, it will be beautiful when you finish still. :)

Thanks again guys for the comments.

I got my replacement bulbs yesterday, but they're not exactly a close match to what I had. I've had to order water clear bulbs, with a whiter/bluer color tone to them. So, back on hold for another week.

Wow man, that is just classy looking! T

his is easily one of the most fun builds I've ever seen :rock

The latest WIP. I've got one more nacel cover and flasher to install tomorrow night, then it's ready for the top cover for the saucer section to go on. It will look something like this soon (notice on the middle aft of the ship, and on top of the right nacel, lit/working flasher lights :)):

Once together, it's on to my favorite part. Decals!
