Its funny to see who aged well -- Cap, Thor, Fury -- and who didn't -- Stark, Pepper, BW. I know, it's been 10 years.

Hell, back in the day I thought Indy was getting old when 8 years after Raiders he did Last Crusade. Now there's this group who we've literally watched age over the last 10 years with a film appearance at least every two years.

ScarJo, IMO, is as hot now as she was then. For that you get a beard slap!

Honestly the only reason I even continued the conversation is because both the Thanos and Vader scene are so awesome. I agree on the impact of the actual death and carnage caused by Vader but since this is the IW thread I figured I'd call out how amazing it was that Thanos took on all the heavy hitters. :)

Totally! Terrified is not an overstatement because I was totally expecting Cap to just be vaporized or something on the spot. In fact I pretty much assumed that the entire MCU had been somewhat building up to Cap's death in *this* movie and consider it to actually be a profound twist that he *didn't* die. Oh and lol WB on killing Supes in his second film while Marvel continues to be patient until just the right time after 20 films.

Can you imagine watching IW1 and 2 back to back. :google

*insert Will Ferrell crazy pills gif*

Man I don't what to say to you guys. I think ScarJo looks *much* better in CW and IW than she did in the first Avengers flick. IM2 is still off the charts though.

Scarjo is still hot.

W... T... F...

That messy hair totally ruined her IM2 look while she was in the skintight outfit IMO.

As far as Widow's designs go, I'd rank them...

TWS
CW
A1
IM2
AoU
IW

I liked her bimbo hair in IM2 lol

Begun the ScarJo hotness wars have.

:lol clearly. It's just one man's opinion.

ScarJo was never my thing really. I liked her in the role though. She was best in TWS for me. Hot and flirty. But she in no way has aged as well as say, Pfeiffer did back in her time in the same 10-year age range.

:lol

Sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree.

I must ask, does anybody else find Proxima Midnight very sexy? She also has a sexy voice.

You know I debated posting this sooner - thanks for saying it. I’m a plus 1 on this post - needless to say I don’t have a great track record with the ladies.

Was Proxima even live-action? I got the impression she was full CGI. And man Whedon is a master of giving smoking hot chicks horrible hair, lol.
Proxima was indeed full CGI. One of the few flaws in the film for me. She's too human-like for the CGI to be convincing. There's no reason why she couldn't have been done practically.

Both scenes served a very similar purpose though with the bad guy marching toward the MacGuffin while a squad of good guys try to stop him from getting there at all costs. I'm not saying that Thanos trumps RO Vader or that Wakanda/Titan trumps the Scariff land/space battle but I can't help but be impressed that Thanos systematically took out every single one of the very *best* heroes without being stopped compared to Vader slicing and dicing a bunch of regular soldiers.

Again, the impact of the RO Vader scene is one for the ages and it's definitely one of the very best scenes in all of SW and sci-fi but damn if Thanos didn't have it's own kind of unique dread with him taking out the best of the best that Earth had to offer.

True both scenes are awesome and will be the subject of many conversations here but look at it this way. Thanos succeeded and Vader was held up and even though he wiped out many rebels he didn't get the plans. Purple headed warrior one, Black dome 0

I managed to get the Target exclusive 4K and watched this for the 3rd time yesterday. I love it more with each viewing. For Marvel to come in and give me a film I place just below Batman Begins and The Dark Knight is an amazing achievement. Growing up a DC kid, I just never got into Marvel despite loving Spider-Man and The Hulk. IW is just a great film on every level I judge films. This ridiculous story about gathering cosmic stones is grounded in a way which creates weight in every scene. The story feels like the stakes have real consequence and foreboding dread comes through with each plot point. That opening scene is just so perfect, showing the threat Thanos truly is right from the beginning (I love his complete beat down on Hulk!) When his motivations are revealed and lead to his moment of sacrifice I almost got choked up watching what this Titan will go thru to achieve his goal.

This for me is Marvel's greatest achievement. They managed to adapt this story which sounds silly on paper but put me on the edge of my seat watching these heroes I've come to adore get defeated at every turn. Thanos is the real deal as far as villains go. Cannot wait for the next film and even though I know most will be resurrected, somehow I still manage to get excited thinking of Captain America getting his revenge on Thanos for taking out Bucky (yeah I've turned into a Cap guy, damn you Marvel!)

Man the bits in bold are almost enough to bring a tear to my eye. :duff I swear growing up a Captain America comic fan was almost like being in some secret club that no one knew about, lol. His fighting style was always so dynamic and his "pick himself up by the bootstraps" mentality despite the constant melancholy of being being out of his time and guilt for Bucky's death just made him so damn easy to root for. But year after year, decade after decade he was on *no one's* radar. Sometimes you'd hear an off-hand reference in pop culture like Will Smith calling the one random agent Captain America in the first Men in Black but that was pretty much the most inside of jokes despite the character being as old as Wonder Woman and almost as old as Batman and Superman.

He had no cool cartoons that anyone cared about and the 1990 live-action straight to video flick was a disaster. When CA:TFA came out I considered it an epic victory that people even bregrudgingly thought it was "decent." Then Whedon had to come along and the very next year take him several notches down again. But oh, those freaking awesome Russo Brothers. Because of them he's almost a universally liked and respected character and badass. Cap shield t-shirts are *everywhere.* And even if he gets recast in Phase 4 and gets Schumacherized or whatever I just don't see anything shaking the foundation of this amazing big screen run he's had from 2011 until now.

Anybody surprised how easily Obsidian, Promixa and Ebony Maw died . Especially Ebony, with all that power you’d think he could survive in space :horror

I wonder if a gauntletless Thanos would die in space :dunno

Hmm, I've inly seen Thor in space, however, I'm not certain other characters can survive in space, I wonder if Hulk can.

A couple of things I wanted to jot down:

- Nebula and Star Lord should've helped remove the gauntlet
- Both battles on Titan and Wakanda had chances for winning, i.e. Thor's Stormbreaker (I recall someone mentioning Thor didn't go for the head so Thanos would know that Thor would kill him)
- When defeating Maw and consulting Strange what to do next, Stark wanted to go to Titan and fight him there, however I wonder what might've happened if he had chosen to go back to Earth (or perhaps they did not have full control of Maw's ship)
- Strange has seen the outcomes of great multitudes of battles, however we as the audience don't know about the winning plan or if he already told the others about it, or if what happened so far is part of it. (However when Thanos was subdued Star Lord said ''For the record that's my plan'')
- Going on from the aforementioned note, it didn't bother me when Strange surrendered the time stone as he had seen these alternate futures so it was part of the plan (?)
- I wanted Star Lord to say "No $h!t sherlock'' to Strange/Stark LOL

Actually when they had Thanos all tied up on Titan they should of ignored the glove and just ran a sword through his head or heart, end of story :)

The way I saw it was that the stones provided an automatic layer of defense for Thanos so stabbing him thru the head or even something as simple as removing the glove required much more effort than normal.

The stones were creating a magnetic field to his hand with all of that combined energy.
