That did feel really out of character and forced. I did think Starlord mimicking Thor's accent was funny, but how that came about was just too childish, something a 9 y/o would do.

This is the same guy who wanted to build a He-Man statue with his god powers, I don't think it felt remotely out of his character and felt like perfect Star Lord.
 
So apparently
Stark’s VR tech he used in CW at MIT plays a role in IW2 as does Ant-Man going subatomic to get inside one of the stones to manipulate something. Also that an arc from TWS will return and the big one, that Marvel wants to beat DC to the cinematic mutiverse by having it finally introduced in IW2

Considering that Star Lord just found out he had superpowers, it makes sense within the scene. In IW his beef with Thor didn't feel natural and how Star Lord dealt with it was too childish. Also considering the tone of the whole movie maybe the humor was a little out of place.
 
I thought the running time was almost perfect. Had it been any longer, then it would have been another borefest like CW.
