Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (May 4, 2018)

Wow...that is just terrible.

I would hate for the MCU to become canon in the books too. The MCU is fine for what it is, away and with no relation to the comics, but the movie characters and some of the changes they've made are garbage when compared to the original ideas and characters.

I don't know enough (yet...read, read) except learning from comments made by people who know more - a lot of times then I go and read. There's just so much.
But I do like knowing what the directors are drawing from AND giving respect to the source.

I don't think this is "canon". Movie canon? Still, for me, TeamCap's life as fugitives is way up on top of my interest list re IW. I mean, at the end of CW, OMG Cap just went rogue and BROKE HIS FRIENDS OUT OF PRISON OMG!!!!! So, what have they been up to? Where are they?:panic:

The logo's release follows #Marvel Comics’ solicitations for their publishing line in January 2018. To make our wait for the film easier, Marvel Studios has decided to print a prelude entitled Avengers: Infinity War - Prelude #1, which will drop in January. The two-issue series is written by Will Corona Pilgrim and Tigh Walker and revolves around the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War. It will also reveal what happened to Captain America, Black Widow, and the Falcon after the movie ended, and is going to offer fans a look into Stark’s new Iron Man armor for the film.

The prelude is certainly important, as we're all desperate to know exactly what Team Cap have been up to now that they're fugitives. Black Widow's fate is even more intriguing, considering she went rogue alone at the end of Civil War.

I remember reading that every iteration of the characters, may it be in comics, movies or cartoons are canon in the Marvel Universe, because there are infinite universes. The mainstream marvel comics take place in Earth-616 and the MCU happens on Earth-199999. They could potentially interact in the comics one day, the same way the Ultimates have crossed over to Earth-616 and 616 crossed to 2149 (Marvel Zombies).

I even kind wish they would show that in the movies... all the different alternate realities to the MCU.

That would've been neat to see.

I suppose it is possible to see different universes or realities in the movies once Thanos has the completed gauntlet, if they choose to make those scenes. I'd love to see something like that, to see how the gauntlet affects everything everywhere.

What's the biggest difference between directing a Captain America movie and a full-blown Avengers movie?

Anthony: On one level, it's the scope of the ensemble. While the Captain America movies we did were ensemble films, and Civil War had a lot of characters in it, they both fail in comparison to these two. Joe and I have always been drawn to ensemble storytelling. We like the idea of telling stories from multiple characters' points of view and thinking about the story from multiple characters' points of view. It's a way to develop very layered, thick storytelling. It's the kind of storytelling that, hopefully, you can keep revisiting because there are a lot of dimensions to discover on multiple viewings.
We also look into the comics themselves for ideas. We may end up doing a different iteration, but a lot of the ideas are sourced from the comics.

Guess GOTG2 did a bit of showing multiple worlds with Ego, but hope with IW budget it's more jaw-dropping than Dr. Strange -if they show that kind of thing. I think it'd be fun to see Hela - Goddesss of Death - give a creepy little smile over the whole thing (tho I haven't seen Ragnarok yet).

I think it's definitely the end of Cap as we know him, he left that identity for good. I don't think the world governments will simply accept them just because they saved the world once more, so if they survive they'll remain like this for a while or retire for good.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (May 4, 2018)

Right? Just head to PornHub and watch the leaked trailer to help get the edge off.

Is it the fuzzy one? It's wrong and *insane*:wacky but I've come to hate that woman's head that gets in the way...:monkey3

But I'm grateful to the unsung hero w. the titanium b@lls who felt something for the unwashed masses. :lol And at this point LOL I've passed through the excitement of a trailer that would be released "soon" (Russo comment July 2017) over to numbness.:(

Which is probably exactly what Marvel marketers want to have happen:devil, 'coz all roads lead to Disney and there's Star Wars, and then slap the fans in the head with the Infinity War trailer. Marvel's got us 'whipped. Like I saw Ragnarok Thursday and not a single person left the theater until the last message about Thor returning for Infinity Wars came up in small white letters.:lol
