Is "PPO" = pre-paid purchase order? So when you say "nightmare" I assume Sideshow had a similar policy in the past?

I was actually going to say that I would like to see Sideshow request a non-refundable deposit with every order to help discourage so many people from merely pre-ordering and canceling months down the road. It has to have a substantial impact on the ES size. I truly feel this would "weed" out about half of those people and potentially cut the ES in half as well. I know a lot of people will probably disagree but I really miss those days of small ES.

I personally hope not because, since they preorder so long in advance, there have been several times that I preorder items and they set more preorders for more desirable items later. This also holds true to the edition sizes; if I find the ES too high, I cancel and get it on the secondary market cheaper.

It really comes down to basic economics; a balance of not flooding the market with high ES (so that EVERYONE can get one) and making enough that they don't tick everyone off with tiny ES that sells out within an hour. I think the whole exclusive vs. retail version was the best idea, but they have started cranking up the EX numbers also.

I dont know about a lot of people here, but i order only the pieces that interest me regardless of ES, and i like the fact that i could cancel an order without penalty if for some reason i cant afford it when its about to ship. in fact i had to do just that the past few weeks cause to much stuff was coming out at once. it hurts the wallet you know

I definitely see your point, but my thing is that I just wish the Exclusives were a little more limited than what they have been because the way things are going it's becoming less enticing to buy directly from Sideshow. With a few exceptions, you can find the same piece from the secondary market for much cheaper. And I do like the idea of rewarding collectors with a VERY limited ES once in a while but when was the last time we've had a piece come along like the very limited SSE Dracula or SSE Frankenstein vs. Wolfman? It's not really even that important anymore to wait by the computer for the weekly newsletter on Thursday nights because I know it'll take a few days for ANY Marvel piece to sell-out. I can come back in day, two, three or more and it'll still be there. I miss that thrill.

I am not sure i want to buy this one i have ordered the iron spidey. Its not worth to buy this if it have the same scuplt for the price.

i don't see the problem with paying for a repaint, which it is, but don't forget it's also got extras with doc ock, scorpion and goblin.

so the way i look at it if a person were to send your iron spidey out for a repaint , to a reputable painter, it would most likely cost you as much or more just to do a repaint, then you still wouldn't have the extra pieces on the base.
so for me it's a plus, and i'll be getting it.

Does nothing for me. Already canceled IS EX along with most of my Marvel stuff.

Only The Dead line is really keeping me from buying at SSC even. All my money now goes to 3A!!

So I normally don't order from Alter Ego Comics etc, but just out of curiosity do they send you the Sideshow pieces in their original brown shipper box too (as if it came from Sideshow directly? (Yes, I need the Shipper!)

I might actually cancel mine as well and go with these guys. Their name always pops up. I take it their reputation is amazing?

yeah since this one doesn't have an ex. version, i'm sure there will be alot of places that will offer it cheaper than ss. now if they offered an ex. version then you'd be stuck ordering from ss, since dealers don't get any discounts on ex. like they do with reg. editions.

the only exception to that is when an ex. piece goes up on second chance offering, and a dealer happens to order some of the regular ed's.
sideshow will sometimes give the dealers the same discount on the ex. pieces and ship them the ex. version instead of the reg. version.
you may see more of that happening, with alot more items hitting second chance offering in the future.

I have my Iron Man 1:1 bust with them as my first order. So, I can't answer about the shipper box. I pick them because I have read only positive reviews.

As for the shipper box, can you email them and let us know? I'm sure the shipper box is the box they'll be using as well. It doesn't make sense for them to spend more money to add their own shipping boxes to us.

Yeah.. with no Exclusive version, if it's a high ES, must as well order from LCS or bid through ebay.. no point paying higher while you can get it cheaper.

well i know alterego and cornerstore have it for the same price, so i will prolly get it from one of those two, i might try cornerstore since the last package i got from alterego looked like it was used for a soccer ball, but thats prolly cause of ups
