With the debate going on about what constitutes a good popcorn movie in the Transformers thread, the first Back to the Future is a perfect example. Ridiculous premise, memorable characters, witty humor and stands up to repeat viewings. High art it's not, but plop down on the couch with a bucket of popcorn and you're gonna be entertained, even if it's the tenth time you've seen it.
STFU Pam. 
This I agree with....THIS is a real pop-corn movie...not crap fest like the Transformwers franchise or other caca we get to see these day

This thread is lame simply due to the extreme "DUH!" effect it causes when the title asks if the movie is great or not. It's as obvious as someone saying chocolate is great, Jessica Biel is hot, and yes, bodie is the world's No. 1 Jonas Brothers fan!
Its my fav. movie of all time though like said before its not artsy 8 1/2 but doesn't need to be cause it kicks so much ass.
Maybe if Transmorphers errrr Transformers had a transforming Delorean it would be good......... scratch that it wouldn't.

I just remembered he is in the scene of the 80's diner in 2015. Michael is giving the menu items ala Max Hedroom style.

I agree. BTTF is one of the most fun movies to watch, I never get tired of it. Few films can just be a fun ride, even on the 30th time. This one is one of that lucky few, so is Ghostbusters.
They both had the comedy, the ridiculous premise, great character and played a bit with the tenants of science. The 80's at it's best. They don't make movies like this anymore, that's for sure... which is a travesty.
