well i guess this one will be one movie i won't be watching, this sucks.

That is soul destroying. It's as simple as Boris Karloff is Frankenstein and Robert Englund is Freddy Krueger, anyone else playing those classic characters are doomed for failure.

I think it all boils down to personal taste;

I HATE the idea of Billy Bob Thornton playing Freddy Krueger, i really do. I personally HATE the idea of a remake of a cult classic, but its the trend "we've run out of original stuff, lets remake a fan favorite".

To alot of folks it'd be like remaking "Horse Feathers" with the Waynes Brothers, or remaking "Dad's Army" with the cast of Friends. It just doesnt sit right with alot of folks.



(Side note - "Horse Feathers" is a classic comedy film staring the Marx Brothers)

(Second Side Note - Yes, i know....Friends sucked)

Yeah.. like Robert Englund is such a great actor. smh. While Billy Bob was receiving an Oscar nomination for Sling Blade, Mr. Englund was at some nerd convention signing pics of himself dressed as Freddy.. for grown men dressed up like.. Freddy. This isn't some cinema classic we're talking about here, it's a crappy horror flick with a cult following. Put anyone in the role and it'll be the same crappy movie. I bet when the movie comes out the same people in here whining will be the same people saying "damn billy bob = best Freddy teh eva!!1!!!!" just like all the *** clowns who did the same thing with Heath as the Joker. Does it really matter who plays Freddy!? You've already seen the movie, how excited can you be for a rehash?

Crappy horror film? Yeah okay, actually I'd say for any real horror fans (you're not one) it IS a classic. A damn fine horror movie that spawned a lot of sequels. Also, I think Robert Englund is a good actor and more specifically, awesome in the role of Freddy.

Batman got more than a reboot!!!!!!! Thanks to BB & The Dark Knight the Batman movies have become the the stuff that Legends are made of!!!!!!!!:blackbat

I don't know what to think. At first I was against Heath Ledger playing the Joker, but now I couldn't think of anyone else as him. So I'll give Billy Bob the benefit of the doubt.
