Please tell me your logic in this. How do you know that nobody else can play Freddy? It's not like four people have tried and everyone failed miserably except Englund.

If you hate it I take it you either have some sort of uptight opposition to the extreme profanity or you simply haven't seen it.

I don't...I like pretty much all the sequels (some more then others) except for New Nightmare.

Bad Santa was a god awful movie, that I didn't find entertaining, or funny. That being said I did think BB did a good job in A Simple Plan. So it could go either way for Freddy

Ultimately I don't care if Billy Bob plays Krueger, I won't see a dime either way.

They're about to replace Lon Chaney with Del Toro in Wolfman (albeit posthumously) and I'm cool with that.

The original NOES hardly showed Freddy's face that much anyway, it was generally in poor light or almost total darkness, it really could have been anyone in the makeup. Billy Bob is a very good actor, no-one can take that away from him. Robert Englund is a good "character" actor....creepy or weird personas are his bag, and that's fine, he's rolled with it all these years so good luck to him.

The fact of the matter is there are people that like this idea, people that don't and people who don't give a rat's *** either way. If you don't like the idea of a remake or of BBT playing as Freddy...then don't go and see the bloody thing, you're not required..it's not part of the curriculum.

One last point, as has been mentioned, this is nothing much more than rumour at the moment...so let's see how it pans out shall we?

I'm honestly sick of hearing how Englund isn't a good actor or whatever, he's great at what he does, whats wrong with that? He's a perfect Freddy and when he was cast in 1984 they did a great job on getting the perfect guy.
