Hope to see a preorder somewhere soon. I’ve coveted everyone’s pic for some time now. Beautiful piece.

Seriously!? A reissue of the soc go lion? I regretted selling mine. I hope its true!

It is true.

I sold mine too, and I don't regret it one bit. Some insane person paid me $650 to get if off my hands. USED.

$650. Let that sink in.

Bandai would be STUPID not to reissue this.

As soon as there's one I'll put the amazon JP link.

Best store on earth.

Amazon JP ship's to the US?

I skipped the 1st release and then regretted it after seeing pics of it with the original GoLion figure. I didn't realize it was as big as it was since they are usually kinda small so I felt it was overpriced. Plus I had already sold off nearly all my Go Nagai (Mazinger series robots, Getter Robo & Grendizer) robots except for 2 of my SOC figures. I collect too much...

I do still have the original Bandai GoDaikin GoLion I got from a toy & hobby shop back in the early 80's when it was released. I bought it before Voltron was even on TV. Thought it was awesome looking and then was even more stoked when I saw he was on TV and now called Voltron. I think I paid like $40 - $50 for it. That was a lot back then for a 10 year old to buy with his own money. It's still complete with Box and every accessory as I pretty much just stuck him on my shelf and never really played with it. Been tempted to sell it over the years as it sells for anywhere from $800 to over a $1k. Just could never get myself to part with it.

Plus I have a friend who's a bigger Voltron fan than me and I like to make fun of his boring Matchbox Voltron (that can't shoot any missiles, poor kids in the US) as I have the real deal Japanese original..:lol

After seeing that photo of them together I'm tempted to pick this up again if it is indeed re-released.

My biggest fear is scalpers, the good news is that BluFin has a store we might order from at the same time local hobby shops who can order this type of merch for us.

No need to worry about scalpers. Voltron did not sell out quick, but once word got out of how amazing it is, it did. You'll have plenty of time.

Awesome! Thanks for the info, this made my day!

Honestly I have been waiting for a reissue, I know I saw them when they were selling them back at the end of 2016, but I just forgot about the SOC quality, before that I had the Evangelion figures and totally forgot about tamashii nation's SOC top of the line quality, once I saw this post I regretted it ever since, I swung by Barnes and Nobles and saw two on the shelf on retail price and jumped the gun, opened it and love it even more, it's a super easy model kit, but I have nothing but patience on this bad boy, I just gotta go find the right paints for this now, I am so thankful they included stickers I thought everything was pre painted.

In the end in 1980's anime a lot of white armor/metal shown is always protrayed in toys as chrome, mirror chrome is too hard to apply on this but honestly silver leaf will suffice, I will treat this as a model car since literally is my main focus on, I love how everything is molded separately in my opinion and just love the play ability of everything!

Mistakes were made. Black Lion was my guinea pig, now i got it. My massive problem is glossy paint/moving parts. I thought i could get away from clear coating the black glossy pieces but seriously that black paint ended up attracting more finger prints. Im using the original anime and the gx-71 paint scheme as my inspiration

Is that a KO?

It does not look anything like the SOC. it looks cheap.

Its the mini pla version of vorton repainted, does it really look that bad??? LOL the sticker on this is glossy but if it looks like a knock off good thing blue fin is sending me an extra black lion plastic tree

Im being extra detailed after the black lion but up close is horrendous on the black paint, im making sure the others don’t have this issue

I think people are confused cause this is the thread for the ridiculously expensive beautiful looking SOC version, and apparently also the thread for the cheap plastic crummy little model kit thing.

I think what you did looks great considering it's just a crappy little snap kit. Will it be able to transform though? I imagine all that paint will come off.

I didn’t known there was a model kit too. That’s probably the reason for the confusion.
