Its a model kit you put together that already has semi painted pieces on it by default they are white unless you repaint them your own way.

They did it to capture the original animated look. Remember in the cartoon the lions legs were white, therefore, Voltron had white legs

I think we all had the impression that the legs were supposed to be metal or chrome/silver but the cartoon portrayed that as white therefore super minipla decided to go with the cartoon look.

I sure wish Bandai would do a cartoon accurate (as far as colors) of the GX-71 Voltron.

I know. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. What’s funny is every part that looks white should be chrome then. Faces included.

All of those parts are silver on the GX71 including the faces
I still love this model. And I might just paint all the legs silver on the next kit I build. Either way it's a very fun toy��*����*����*����*����*����*��

I wonder if anybody knows the difference in Golion and Voltron

Jeez Golion is a really brutal and gory old school anime, it makes Voltron look like a mess and edited train wreck

I grew up on Voltron, but when I saw Golion ..that really gave me a different feeling

The sword is "white" in the cartoon as well. The only way for them to replicate the chrome in a color-sense is to have the shine represented by dark/light shading offsetting throughout and I'm sure that was a lot more time than what it was worth, particularly back then. The did a lot with line hashing and stuff like that in the animation but coloring wise there wasn't a lot of shading/highlighting throughout the series. IIRC they would add random lens-flaring and stuff to occasionally define "chrome" items.

I agree. And believe me I loved my original matchbox die cast lion set from 1985 with the chrome legs and white faces but there seems to be some debate as to which parts are supposed to be white and which are chrome. Does anyone know for sure?

That being said I can understand why this company went with white legs and it doesn’t bother me.

FYI, they have mini pla Voltron at Barnes and Noble. Saw it there for retail price too.

So if you have a B & N near you, save online money with shipping and just go get it there
