Other than shipping it, that seems like a good thing though.

Solid box/packaging for the vehicles' transportation, solid, sturdy build for the actual car, and hopefully a solid armor cover.

Unless they made everything die-cast without telling us. :lol

How to inform the wife of a $765 batmobile? YIKES:panic:

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Thinking about it,Hot Toys Arkham Bats, when he is revealed, would look really good with this.

:hi5: i know right. I think they would compliment each other nicely. This is my all time favorite Batmobile. And the Arkham version of Batman is what i would consider the definitive version of Batman.

That's so amazing! it looks perfect!
Can't wait to have it... but seriously? 22kg??? thanks god I have free shipping...

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I'm not familiar with things measured in kg, so I had to google the conversion to lbs....it's a little more than 48.5 lbs. To put that in terms that I can imagine what it's like to pick up...it's more than 3lbs heavier than the largest barbell weight plate at the gym. :lol

I know it's longer and has more features than the tumbler, so I expected it to weigh more, but I'm still shocked that it weighs that much more. Seriously HT?? Are the shields made of real steel? :wink1:

I'm not really seeing all of the improvements from the white backstage prototype in these two pics, the rear fenders still look as boxy as the first prototype version too me. Maybe it will be clearer as more pics/blogger pics are released.

I originally had two of these of pre-order but reduced to just one. I KNOW this is going to shoot up in price on the secondary market, probably much more than the 1st release tumbler did (before the second release was announced). So it kinda pains me not to go for a second one, but I don't have the space or money to play the flipping game right now.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I wonder if that weight reflects the cubic shipping weight for the post carriers. Like based on the dimensions of the box and the relative weight.

This thing is plastic, There is no way it is 38 pounds even if counting 10 lbs of shipping material which is a ton of packaging.

I think the tumbler weights about 18 pounds if I am not mistaken. Best guess is this is just under 30 lbs. Which still is pretty damn heavy.

Ordering the 89 Batmobile without ordering or already owning the 89 Batman is blasphemy.:lol Seriously, though, I love how tiny that large DX box looks in comparison to this thing.:lol

The term "epic" is used far too often nowadays. This, however, is truly "epic." I suspect jaws will drop when the poor UPS drivers struggle to deliver it.

Not to veer off topic, but I wouldn't be surprised if a certain Marty McFly ride debuted at Comic-Con next month with this finally coming out. It wouldn't ship until 2016, mind you, but Hot Toys won't show up at Comic-Con without a big new ride to show off, especially after the '66 Batmobile reveal last year.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I'd so rather have this than the Tumbler.

Y'know of all the 80s big boy items I've got Powerloader from Aliens and ED-209 from Robocop....then I've got the Tumbler....its a bit odd one out in that group. 89mobile would be a much better fit.

Even I agree that the Batmobile absolutely is the superior shelf queen over the Tumbler.

Definitely. I don't know if it'll be this year, or not, but I intend for this piece to double as a piece of furniture when/if I get it. Bats with the "stop" remote in front of this baby=best. Coffee table. EVER!!!:lol

Yeah, I can't really tell. The way to see would be to look at the curvature where the headlights are (the backstage white proto was really accurate), but the pic is too small and dark.

I don't think it's as boxy as this one though, I think the fins look a lot better than that first proto.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

If you pay half for me I'll consider going ahead with this too! Though half of my cost shipping to Ireland will probably be equal to the full cost shipping to the US, hope you don't mind...

You getting this mate? I'm in the same boat as you. I would normally wait for the ebay sellers like Timcent but I have a feeling this is going to be too big/heavy a deal to ship without some FedEx style black up. But of course then you are stuck with a guaranteed customs bill. I really can't see something this size getting through Irish customs marked $25!

Think I will order from SS. As much as it pains me...:( but :yess: but :(

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Is it me or does it look like the finish on the new pics of the car has more gloss than before? Seems that the final paint is more vibrant. I think it looks better with a bit more gloss. Those box pics are just sexy.:drool

It's "boxy".

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

The weight has to be off- unless alot of it is solid plastic and I mean solid..or the cocoon is really heavy and not vacuformed plastic.
Frankly I just want it.

Is a release date confirmed for early-mid July?

I wonder how many wives will be kicking those in the shins when that crosses the door.
