I like the upper left pic showing what could happen if he crashes without wearing a seatbelt. :lol

Even this figure shows that the place is way too tight for the batman to fit in may not be scale but from the look of it. Drawing a reference as someone commented this may be the wrong bat mobile the earlier pictures shared. I think it may be the right one and ... Surprisingly that batman aint gonna fit, which to me is a bit odd. Cld they have gotten the proportions wrong? Hmmm....

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Exactly. It's not undersized. If it's pretty difficult to get an unmodded 1/6 Batman to fit into an unmodded 1/6 Batmobile, that's pretty much par for the course. Keaton wore a cowl with shortened ears, a shorter cape, and in some shots, you can even see that the seat below the headrest is missing. That's what it takes to "try" to make Batman fit easily.

That said, I'm gonna gingerly stuff my full suited DX09 in there at least once, I don't care... and close the canopy on top just to prove to myself that it can be done. :monkey1

Suggestion...put him in there without the cape, the figure will likely fit in the car easier without the cape. After all, in the car nobody will see that he is not wearing the cape. Just a thought. :lecture

I agree with that if the canopy remains closed.

But can his head even been seen with the canopy closed or is the windshield plastic too dark?

Besides, who wants to keep a $220 figure in a bent position.

The best idea is his head and cowl on an ice cream stick leaning on the chair. :lol

Holy crap look at the size of the box. :slap

Can fit two tumblers in there..maybe even more.

Sadly seeing this made me sad. It's already damaged and scuffed straight out of the box. I imagine we're going to be seeing a lot of members opening theirs up with tears and scuffs as well.

This sentence was worth the whole thread. :lecture
Haha thank you. :1-1:

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've already got a plan for when I want to make it easier. .. use tak bats body + Keaton cowl. The point of gingerly shoving/stuffing/futzing a fully stock DX09 into a fully stock HT 89 Batmobile is not about making it any easier...that comes later. The point is a personal experiment/challenge to myself to see that it can be done, with both items unmodded.

The shields are disappointing. Some have said "who cares?" but it wasn't until Hot Toys showed the coccoon in promo shots that I placed my pre-order. The shields were the last element that sold me on it.

HOWEVER....a year and a half later, I reluctantly canceled my PO. It's just too big and too expensive. I personally can't justify it, but I'm thrilled for those who can.

Ideally, all I ever wanted was the 89 Batmobile with a scale Batman that can fit in it, and a decent removable coccoon. The 1/18th car by Hot Wheels was awesome, but no figure and no shields. Perfect size FOR ME though...I'm not speaking for everyone...just for me.

In fact, the only reason I went ahead and got the Batman figure was cause it really is the ONLY accurate 1989 Batman EVER. No other toy or figure has ever come close. I'd have much much preferred a smaller scale toy, but I bought it since it was my only option. And the only other one is gonna be NECA and that's even BIGGER!

The Batmobile, I have always had options to go smaller...same with other awesome Hot Toys stuff like Robocop and ED 209 and the Predators and Terminators....

But that doesn't mean I am not seriously in AWE of this thing!! All of you that will get it....I'm glad you're going to enjoy one incredible looking toy!! I hope I can see one in person in all its glory sometime soon!!

Can't find any good shots of the actual Batmobile wheels to cross-reference but the wheels on this version looks too bright. Anyone have a good shot of the actual wheels?

Sadly seeing this made me sad. It's already damaged and scuffed straight out of the box. I imagine we're going to be seeing a lot of members opening theirs up with tears and scuffs as well.

It looks more like protective film with air bubbles underneath to me.

Aw no pretty artwork, just a generic brown shipping box?

I think only the DX figures have some sort of "artwork" on the brown shipping boxes. That box looks standard for MMS releases.
