It's one of the best, like top 4, but I rate the 1966 TV Batmobile 1st, the 89 second, the 1944 3rd, and this one fourth.

You know that if this Hot Toys Batmobile were full size, it would cost $129,300.00 I think you could build a full sized replica for less than that price schedule. A 1/6th scale item is 1/216th the size of a full sized item. It may sound too much, but if you work it out in 1 inch cubes compared to 6 inch cubes, you will realize it is correct. It takes 36 one inch cubes to fill the space of a 6 inch cube from one side. Then you turn it to the side, and you realize you need 5 more layers to fill the whole 6 inch cube. That's 36 x 6 =216. This really is one expensive collectible.
The $129,300 figure is pricing each one at $600, by the way. At $630 apiece the price will be $136,080.00.

Hot Toys 89 Batmobile is far more expensive than most other things in the world and is a poor value for the dollar when you could get a real drivable Batmobile for probably half as much money for the size. How about that then? Surely that is simple enough to comprehend for anyone who knows how to speak English.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

No doubt it is expensive.

But there's enough collectors out there willing and able to pay the asking price.

Hence simple economics. Demand = supply at $600 (they could probably have charged even more and still sold out a 3000-4000 piece run I would imagine).

The problem with your math is that if you were to spend the equivalent of 6x6x6 HT Batmobiles for a life-sized version, it would be a life-sized plastic, no-engine, undriveable Batmobile. It doesn't make sense to pay that much for a 1:1 scale "toy", but at 1:6 scale, it does.

I wonder what the possibility would be of getting a company to make a 3d print of a 1/6 toy car that looked just like the Batmobile? I also wonder what it would cost, at least for the body parts.

You make a good point. Because a full sized Hot Toys Batmobile would be undriveable, a real full scale replica would be an even better value. How much better? Shall we say... 6 times better?

Shipping cost would be insane as well. LOL " Excuse me we are here to deliver your life size plastic Batmobile." I would get tired of telling people I cant take them for a ride. The plastic would also have to be really thick to support the over all weight... And i think the Tires are rubber?

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

But you can't compare a real car to a model. Would a 1/6 scale fiberglass, metal, glass and rubber Batmobile with a working engine that took real gasoline and had a real afterburner flame cost more or less that the 1/6 scale plastic Hot Toys version to produce? Probably much, much more.

Even if it was miraculously some how cheaper, what would be the worth or the point of having a fully functioning 1/6 scale Batmobile?

At 1:1 scale, if you have the space and the funds and the desire, a functional replica may be worth it, but it is really apples and oranges to compare it to a Hot Toys 1/6 scale collectible. Neither can be said to be a "better value".

Hence why the entire argument is just silly.

Either you want the HT car or you don't.

If you don't because you think it's too expensive then don't buy it.

If you think that you're being ripped off but you know deep inside it's a dream collectible you always wanted to own, then buy it anyways and be content, and also grateful that a company took the time to finally make a collectible from a 1989 movie!

For me personally, it's worth every single penny!

Bring it!

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

The only question people should be asking is: What is their price limit to a Hot Toys quality 89 batmobile. I set mine at 550. Cornerstore offered it at 567. That's really a no-brainer for me.

It wouldn't have real glass in it. It would be lexan, I think. As for the motor, it could be electric, like an RC car. There are gas powered RC cars too I think.
Look, a 1/6 scale Mini Cooper that looks about as much like a real mini cooper as this Hot Toys looks like the 89 Batmobile if not more so, for $130 retail. https://www.hobbytron.com/1:6LicensedMiniCooperElectricRCCar.html It has working head and tail lights, as well. The Batmobile would have a little bigger body, make an interior for the figure, add another $75 for the grappler, discs and guns, and there you go. You could have an RC Batmobile that could hold Batman for around $300, I should think. $400 max. Imagine what fun you would have if you mounted full auto airsoft or bb guns in it. going around a big parking lot, shooting stuff up...
