If you have the item they can't charge you. They can hold it and only release it once the bill is paid.

Hmmm. I think that's just the UK? In Ireland customs don't hold anything, either the delivery guy collects the money off you or in the case of Fedex deliveries you're sent a bill later on. Just, its been long enough since I ordered with Sideshow that I can't remember how long after you get your item that that bill arrives.

That's not correct if I am reading you right.

Any purchase from Sideshow will get a Fedex costumes fees invoice and they are on your case if you don't pay.

I have to pay the fee on my BD Iron Man and they have already chased me.

A-Dev, if you have gotten away with fees, that would be brilliant. You'd have a perfect one for what £480? :)

Yeah that would be the case. Probably speaking too soon though.

I'm also envisioning a scenario where maybe I never receive a bill but suddenly I get threatening letters.

Well I got mine after about 10 days after BD Iron Man arrived. It was the same with Luke Skywalker.

If you get away with fees and i hope you do, how much will the Batmobile cost you? And it's a scuff free one too right?

$738.32 including the shipping. And yeah its pretty much perfect

I won't get away with it though. Like Vodoun said I'll probably have the bill the coming monday.

Well fingers crossed you do as that a perfect Batmobile for £461! which is great.
I am paying £448 for mine delivered but it has one small scuff. Which I think and hope is a bargain?!

Pulled the trigger today, someone was selling one in the FS section for a phenominal price, but ultimately for scale and price went with SS for the added insurance of delivery issues and so forth. Now the waiting begins.

Was finally able to liberate my Batmobile from my LCS and go through the hell of getting the thing out of the damn box. :panic:

Crappy lighting. Crappy camera... but you get the picture.
(And that's only about half the 89s I have right now. Others are in storage.)

This thing is seriously badass.

Awesome collection man. Still wish i had my returns car from when i was a kid.

Especially digging the God Phoenix that snuck into the lineup.

Tee hee.

That's one of my "pride and joy" pieces. :blissy

I have that God Phoenix too. It's Unifive I think. It's funny how amazed I was at the size of that when I got it years ago. It's tiny in comparison to the Batmobile.

PS - The Gatchaman Blu-ray box set is coming out soon. Thankfully not at the crazy price it's going for in Japan.

Yeah, it's the Unifive Phoenix. Can't believe it's been twelve years since I got it. For the price it was at the time, I passed when they released the 'ver. 2' with the lighter blue and bird-a-rang but even it's flying high on eBay right now.

And I'm counting the days to the Blu-ray set.

And to keep this thread on topic, I had a blast peeling the film off the Batmobile's shield. Putting it just a hair below bubble wrap. :rotfl

Sorta on topic... I'm in the process of trying to move a new Unifive God Phoenix to raise the funds for the upcoming 66 batmobile!

Drive like a superhero: Batmobile complete with flame thrower up for sale

Here’s one vehicle guaranteed to make you stand out from the crowd.

Comic book fans with a spare £90,000 in the bank can drive like the Caped Crusader with their very own road legal Batmobile.

The slick black replica, which comes with a fully operational flame thrower and hydraulic suspension, is set to be auctioned on November 30 at Mercedes-Benz World in Brooklands, Surrey.

Inspired by the car used in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman, the rear- wheel drive Batmobile can reach a speed of 60mph in less than five seconds.
