Re: Batman: Arkham City (No Spoilers)

Not confirmed at all yet. Its just concept art. It may never happen or could be years away still.

Still, if they release some 1/6 figures from Arkham Asylum/city i'd be stoked. The Arkham Batman design is one of my favourite interpretations, and if they do other characters from the games, scarecrow, joker, bane, i'd be in for all of them. They had some fantastic designs for the characters.

Re: Batman: Arkham City (No Spoilers)

Erm, who here didn't use spoiler tags?

Also, don't talk down to people. That really irks me.

Also the Joker dies at the end of the demo.

Now you can complain about a lack of spoiler tags. See, if you'd been polite, that wouldn't have happened.

Re: Batman: Arkham City (No Spoilers)

Mods - PLEASE change the thread title to 'SPOILERS'!! It would stop all this nonsence that's been dragged out for far too long now.
The vast majority of posters here agree that a non-spoilers thread has no place or use - there simply wouldn't be anything to discuss.
With a spoilers title at least those who don't want to know can avoid the thread completely.

You're a polite one, ain't you?

Also, how does 'lazy' come into it? Learn what words mean before you use them. :)

How about one topic for 'spoilers' - this one - and a new one for no spoilers? If people are going to get this pissy about it....

No, one topic is fine - NO SPOILERS. You seem to be the only one that wants Spoilers, Cult. So ZIP IT! :thwak

Lol, I'm confused now. I want 'spoilers' in terms of info officially released by Rocksteady being able to be discussed, which some people are considering spoilers. As for stuff like plot developments that haven't been officially released, we can keep that in spoiler tags. Well, unless someone starts being impolite..... :D

Re: Batman: Arkham City (No Spoilers)

I find it odd that this thread (and apparently another I don't care about) is a battleground for spoilers with all the movie threads that we've had. I don't think I've ever seen so much confusion on here about what constitutes a spoiler or not.

Personally I love the spoiler tags because it is a nice medium to keep both camps happy, but I've also stopped going to threads because of information leaking. I didn't consider it a spoiler per se since everything in the TDKR thread was from filming in public, but it was more than I wanted to see.

Either way, let's focus on the important thing...a 1/6 AA Batman? Yes please. I think AA does a great job of giving Batman a comic accurate look that also would fit in the real world. Or at least a more realistic comic book world. I'd love to have one.

Re: Batman: Arkham City (No Spoilers)

^ Hell yeah! :D (Hopefully sooner if Game send it a day or two before release date - I've heard that can be the case sometimes)

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrTbCkXErKM&feature=player_embedded"]Batman: Arkham City - Steel Mill Gameplay Trailer (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) - YouTube[/ame]

New video (best I can tell). The title references the "steel mill". I'm not sure what that is, but the video gives a good overview of how sprawling Gotham is, and how fluidly the city can be traversed. There is also a short fight with a few generic thugs ... fighting looks fast, fluid, and brutal. The fella he grabs with the claw and clotheslines took quite a beating.

Spoiler ... Batman can glide around Gotham using his cape. Heh.

If ya'll had bothered to read the article that "Spoiler" was posted in, the writer mentions how during his demo, Dax Ginn said he could report it, but not to ask any questions about it. Which means that:
A. It was a poor decision on Dax's part and he is sadly no longer under the employ of Rocksteady.

or

B. They gave him the go ahead and let him share it with the reporter, and, by extension, the readers. Which therefore makes it officially released info, which therefore makes it fair game for this thread.

Personally, I'm siding with option B. as there haven't been any angry internet rants from Dax on how Rocksteady unfaitly treated him.

That is great to hear. The first game was so great, it would be hard to top it. But everything we've seen in trailers so far seemed to indicate it was indeed better in everyway. Glad to hear it confirmed. Is it too much to hope that this Batman series can be the Pixar of Video games? Giving us a winner just about everytime? :lol

Re: Batman: Arkham City (No Spoilers)

They also stated that this game brings Batman's world "to life better than any comic, movie or television show before it." Apparently it isn't just a great game -- but a worthy addition to the Batman mythology. Additional excerpts from the review below ...

"Batman: Arkham City is not only the best superhero game ever made, it's one of the best games ever made full-stop. It takes the already superlative original and gloriously expands on it. It's a deeper game, more complex, more inventive, more mature. It brings the caped crusader's world to life better than any comic, movie or television show before it."

"Presentation: Endlessly creative, perfectly moody, and technically flawless. This is Epic's Unreal engine pushed to its absolute limit."

"Sound: Alternatively foreboding and frantic, the game's orchestral soundtrack matches the on-sccreen action perfectly. Voice acting is brilliant."

"Controls: Complex and initially overwhelming but also logical and responsive. It'll take a while to get used to them, but once you do it feels perfectly natural flinging Batman around."

"Replay Value: Immense. A massive main quest, dozens of side missions, Riddler challenges, secondary game modes, and DLC will keep most people occupied for months."

"VERDICT: We can't imagine how a superhero game could be better than this. Absolutely sublime."

10/10
