Don't consoles require you to pay a yearly fee to play online in addition to your regular internet provider now, as well? That's the biggest drawback for me. No mods, no Steam sales, smaller player amounts, and locked frame rates too.

Consider it like a constant MMO, they need to keep the servers up, most multiplayer online games require a subscription. This one is just $60 for the year and all you can play as long as it's games for that console.

Yea, I've never really played any mmos or at least one I had to pay for. Tbh, I mainly stick to 3rd and 1st person shooter types so it's hard for me to swallow $300 over 5 years just to play with friends. That's like 20+ good games on Steam sale and in reality makes a PS4 more of a $700 purchase.

It seems like you can't even mention "PC" anywhere, without some console peeps jumping the gun and making a big deal out of it :lol. All I did was post a sales link to the PC version. And jye didn't read anything I wrote to him.

Regardless, Arkham Knight will look beautiful regardless of whatever platform you choose. I'm still wondering how the optimization will be... I somehow doubt that Xbone will take advantage of higher resolutions.

I can't wait until these machines top out and get so realistic that they can only expand in scope rather than detail. I'll probably be like 80 by the time that happens, but it's cool. At least there won't be any more debates.:lol In all seriousness, though, I often wonder what will happen when we do reach that point. What happens when GTA looks no different than if someone was walking down the street shooting, or if MK looked like someone getting their heart ripped out? Will some sort of watch dog put restrictions on just how realistic you can make these things? It's fascinating to me.

Id imagine there would either be new regulations to stop from the violence being put on too realistic a human being. Or everone would be decensitised anyway. You could look to gore porn like Saw and say thats realistic but no one cares right?

Well PS+ gives you free games every month which is why i got it. Much better sales on PC but also much better exclusives on consoles.

I read everything you wrote. :lol

Sorry, I walked away from PC gaming a very broke man, so I just enjoy picking on it from time to time. :lol

Well, I did mention that you don't have to spend a lot for a console equivalent PC :lol.

And just so you guys know, Solidus is a both a console gamer and a PC gamer. Both have their advantages, it just depends on the games you're running.

Well, it's free until you cancel the subscription, and then you'll lose access to the games.

I used to like it back in the day when there was hardly anyone on PS Plus, and if you were subscribed, you'd be the only person amongst your friends to have the little "Plus" icon next to your PSN avatar :lol. Now everyone's Plus'd...

These days games are going on sale extremely fast. You can find disc copy games for as good a price as steam if not better not long after they release, plus if you end up hating the game, you have the option to sell it. Xbox and ps plus usually slash the price around Black Friday, which is when my subscription is usually ending, so I never pay 50 dollars a year.

Consoles might not be as technically advanced as PC but they're a lot more user friendly, and they have some exclusives that'll never make PC, such as Uncharted, Last of Us (possibly the best game of last gen) God of War, the latest Halo and Gears, or PC has to wait longer to get third party games that most of the time are half assed ports.

Both have their ups and downs really.

True, I actually got my Xbox gold subscription off amazon for $45 and saved a little. Its nice to have even though I don't multiplay much.

Just got back from Gamestop. The salesman there said that the Harley and Redhood extras will not be able to be purchased later. Only for pre-orders and never available again. Is that true?

Yea I thought Joker was exclusive the whole time. I'm not sure if he was added in the goty versions though.

Creating exclusive content for a console is one thing. Creating content for a specific retailer is quite another.

There's no way Rocksteady went to the trouble of creating extra content just for GameStop. Makes no business sense at all. Timed exclusives encourage preorders. Actual exclusive content takes a lot of time to make, though. Why would they do that? GameStop would've had to pay for it to be made.

The console exclusives have always remained exclusive to those consoles (PlayStation). The retailer exclusives however have always been released later. Harley and Red Hood are available on both systems from gamestop so they'll be available later for both consoles for those that don't buy from gamestop.

Yup..total bs…as buttmunch said console exclusives stay that way (like the scarecrow nightmare stuff for the upcoming arkham knight), but retailer stuff is always available… I also checked on the play as the joker content from asylum and it was a ps3 exclusive only, and was made available afterwards as well.

That's ********. I worked there, the employee was lying to get you to pre-order. Easy ******** tactic, everyone at my stores always did that. ****ing hated them for that.
Joker was never available as playable character on any other console but PS3, was he? (Asylum)
Correct, he was only on PS3.
Didn't they make Joker available on the 360 with the GOTY edition for Asylum? He's playable on the PC version as well.
Not on 360, he was an exclusive character. Kind of like Kratos in MK9.
