that said, the only thing that makes his suit Iron Manish are his boots. those are overtly complicated and non-sensical.
exactly. i can't dumb myself down enough to your level.

i don't see how you can bash the AK suit but like the TDK suits.
I think the TDK suit is over designed too with those nonsensical puzzle piece pants. It ain't my favorite suit, not by a long shot.
The "Motocross Knight in armor with his trusty steed (Batpod)" thing they had going on in 2008 works for me though. I dig it. Better than this "Bat-Mecha" Iron Man thing with ****ing paneled breast plates that open and close. There was nothing wrong with the Asylum/City suits. They evoked the comics and "real life" quite well and you felt like Batman playing the game. Even the Origins suit which got into the Tactical/Nolan territory was nice and simple looking compared to this monstrosity. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. This obsession with paneling up Batman with all these lines and plates and robot parts is lame. They're just doing it for "teh next gen graphics".

actually suprised they didn't put a spoiler on his back.
As long as it looks like Batman in silhouette.
You nailed it with that last sentence, DiFabio. "Teh next gen graphics." Then again, from a technical perspective, it does make sense. You talked about how there was nothing wrong with the Asylum and City suits, but put yourself in the mind of Batman. They look cool, but, realistically? Those things were like paper. Dude probably was like "**** it, I'm tired of getting shredded up every night." This suit, from a technical perspective, is perfect for Batman's needs. The armor offers more protection, and the mechanisms allow the added protection without the trade-off of obstructed movement.
So, I can't really say it's a bad suit. There is a bit of "check out what we can do on these next-gen engines" to it, but, at least, within the context of the games, it holds up.

I have nothing against more protection or an armored Batman, it's a cool idea and it's been done in the past a lot, it's purely a design complaint. You nailed it with that last sentence, DiFabio. Give it up, Spliff.
Arguing with Gaspar is like playing chess with a pigeon. He knocks over the pieces, poops on the board and still struts around like he won.

I don't think his suits were that fragile nor that they were shredded with every night's patrols, but AA and AC were major events with crazy **** going on so the battle damage was logical, nor I see how where they unrealistic compared to the AK one, they were fabric, with kevlar or something underneath, pretty simple.
I think I would be fine with the iron man armor, if the cape and under-suit weren't paneled and had different shades like a mother ****er, that alone tells you how it's over designed with no thought of the functionality.
^ It's already been confirmed he wears the Arkham City suit at the start of this game, then at some point changes into the armoured version. I'm guessing that would be fairly early in the game though since the suit and Batmobile are designed to work together, and they wouldn't delay us using the Batmobile for long I'm sure.
I haven't had a issue with any of the Arkham suits. I've always looked at them more like what Batman would wear. This one has a bit more armor on it than the others but it still looks decent.
