So I never played Origins. I dont hear very good things about it. What gives? It looked beautiful, had one of the best batman suits ever, and featured Deathstroke. Is it boring?

I really enjoyed it and personally I was lucky enough not to encounter any glitches or issues. Id even go so far as to say I enjoyed it more than AC which is practically blasphemy around here!

I just think it was very poorly developed by WB. The story and characters just fell flat early on. It had almost none of the atmosphere of Asylum or City.

Dork Niht Orangins was pathetically edgy and poorly made.
It's an ok fan-made-like campaign for BAC. Not something anyone should consider as the prequel to what Rockstar created.

agreed! I don't consider it part of the trilogy, for me its:

Batman Arkham Asylum - Batman Arkham City - Batman Arkham Knight

as it is written, so shall it be :rock

:lecture Sums is up perfectly. I'm a huge Batman Returns fan, and the Christmas setting in Origins reminds me a lot of the movie. The music is also very seasonal.

Not to mention, if you don't mind a story that mashes TDK and TDKR together (basically taking the good bare essentials of Joker and Bane's evil schemes) then you'll find it much more enjoyable than previous offerings. Also I remember seeing a lot of folks agree that it provided one of the best renditions of Bane in the longest time, not to mention past the whole Black Mask charade, Joker himself is handled pretty solidly as a reiteration of various versions of the character (he's like DCAU, Killing Joke and TDK Joker in one).

Sounds like id enjoy it because I wont be too stuck on any of the mythology and how it compares to arkham city. The boss fights look cool and as long as the gameplay is dope. Thanks fellas I'll go hunting tonight if its cheap enough.

Egdy? It didn't try to be edgy.

And no, the story was far better than Asylum, it is something everyone should consider as a proper prequel.

I understand the fact that the many glitches are something it may turn people away from it, but that doesn't undermine it's intended qualities.

I have to disagree strongly on that. I found the Asylum story to be the best out of all three Batman games so far, for me it captures many qualities from the comics and animated series that I enjoy and remember........not to mention the atmosphere of the Asylum is captured perfectly. Origins was very much a copy and paste job in my opinion.

I thought Asylum's story was okay until Titan Joker ruined it.... just NO...

Seriously how is being BIGGER and BADDER in anyway an example of good writing when it comes to Joker's endgame? Answer is simple: it's not. I'll take Origins' story finale over Asylum's any day, thank you.

Origins story is overrated, seriously. Everyone complains about City's story for Joker...but Origins somehow gets a pass. Origins is frankly far worse because the devs made us think Joker didn't matter that much, and because it tells some things we already know. Everyone knows Batman and Joker are two sides of a coin, and likely are destined to do this forever. There's also how some of the assassins don't matter, and that some story elements were even re-treads like part of Copperhead. I didn't even find that much interesting about Origin's story, I don't know what people see in it. I give Origins a plus for its use of Bane though, he was pretty awesome...then the finale happens, and he kinda...goes downhill. It is not a bad story, but people overrate it horribly.

I agree that Asylum's story is probably the best, there aren't many flaws. It's pretty self contained too, and has some neat moments. City's...I liked at first, but on a subsequent playthrough I noticed some weird flaws. And Ronri, I agree about Titan Joker, which was the most disappointing bossfight too. I do like how Joker is all "I no longer want to live" jokingly though, that's something.

Origins' story is overrated? Lol where? Is the most underrated of the 3, yet, probably the second best.

Joker's story is fantastic, the way Joker met Batman was like twisted love at first sight, it was perfect, what's also perfect is the representation of a young, rougher, inexperienced Batman, they nailed that one.

How Batman and Gordon's relationship came to be is also top notch, you get some character development and interactions that you just don't get in any of the other 2 games, Barbara's bits were also great.

A bunch of Assassins are trying to kill Batman cause he's a problem for the mob, what's not to like?

When you find out Bane discovered the batcave and Alfred's not responding, you actually feel the urgency, I didn't feel that in City near the end.

If the gameplay didn't have so many bugs on the PC version it would probably be considered the best of the franchise, yeah it took everything City did, but what did you expect? It DID expand on some things mainly in the fights, city navigation, etc etc, added a couple enemies that made Origins fights the most fun of the 3 games, the martial artist enemy type made them a lot more varied.

And the design of the characters was probably the best of the 3 games.

I've started to worry that no one will notice. :lol
