The key word for Zach would be grounded, you like your Batman to be more "realistic", I hear ya, I also like something more grounded and serious every once in a while too.

For me, comics can be as crazy as the writer wants, it's just what comic books are all about, being cheesy and ridiculous looking are a huge part of the essence of superhero comic books, if you think about it a little, Batman himself is cheesy too, we're talking about a grown man, who dresses up as a Bat and also uses spandex, to fight crime, and don't get me started on the villains lol.

You only get as grounded as a superhero story allows it, if you still want to keep all the paraphernalia.

Now that I think about it, I think I don't hate any superhero or sidekick, I even like Flex Mentallo and that **** is ridiculous.

Ok, well, I don't like him. I understand why people like him but I don't. Batman fights crime alone, yeah, he get's help from Alfred and Gordon, BUT they don't wear green spandex, have a high voice and aren't 12 years old. I like my batman somewhat grounded, bringing in a sidekick just doesn't do it for me. It's not only Robin, EVERY SIDEKICK IS CHEESY AS HELL.

I could easily put up with an older-relatable "partner" but Robin just doesn't do it for me. His cameo in AC was cheap, and the worst part of the game, he still had that "ahh but baaaaatttmmmmmaaaaann... why can't I?" whiny preteen vibe going on. His outfit was cool though.

I'm fine with him, and accept him as a part of certain batman elements, but the character, for me is just plain, not batman. It's the very opposite, why would batman wan't a kid around? In fact, that would be the last thing I think he would wan't, a little kid running by his side and annoying the **** out of him at every turn.

Now, if done right (TDKR and Batman Beyond come to mind) a somewhat "Robin" type character could work after Bruce has put up the cowl for good.

Fair enough, I get that you don't like the 12-year old, high voiced, green spandex Robin. If that was the only interpretation of Robin available, I'd probably hate it too, just as I can't stand the overly hammy, campy 1960s TV interpretation of Batman.

Sorry if it seems like I am harping on the point. Honestly, I accept that you don't like Robin and I am not trying to change your mind, I just want to understand where you're coming from / the reasoning behind your point of view. I'm confused because your main beef with Robin seems to be that to you, he is a whiny 12-year old (and even when he's not preteen kid, like in AC he gives you that preteen vibe). But then you say it's not just Robin that annoy you, but all sidekicks.

I am guessing that includes Nightwing (even though he started as Robin, Grayson in that role is very much his own man), Azrael, Red Robin, all the incarnations of Batgirl, Spoiler, and even Catwoman in certain cases (when she is working with him). You accept Gordon and Alfred as remote assistants to Batman's mission, but you don't like anyone else "out-in-the-field" with him actually swinging from rooftops and crashing through skylights and punching in faces with him.

To me, and correct me if I'm wrong, your main issue is not the very specific interpretation of Robin as a 12-year old in green spandex (because we know there are other alternatives for Robin, and Batman's other subordinate partners in general), but that there could be anyone, anyone at all, no matter how bad *** their costume, no matter how old or experienced they are, and no matter how mature their attitude, who could dare partner and share the danger/spotlight with Batman. Your acceptance of a Terry McGinnis/Batman Beyond character type reinforces this. It's fine that he is out there assisting Batman's mission...just as long as he is not actually out there at the same time as Batman (Bruce) is active.

Speaking of 60's Batman. There are a couple of things I'm curious about. One, and this is a more general question, do you guys think we'll see skins available this time around, again? If so, could we, theoretically, see some Adam West skins, since WB is allowed to license the property for merchandise?

Man I hope so. With all the costume skins (and even alternative facial structures underneath the masks) with AC, I was really disappointed that they didn't include official West/Keaton/Bale models (I know there were re-skins made for the PC version by fans). Rocksteady clearly had the talent, and it wasn't just repainting/re-skinning the default model, since each had a different 3D shape and details.

If we don't get official live-action based skins by the WB this time around, I hope that the "secret" Rocksteady project is a game based on the movies with more detail than the BB game, and more to do than the app-type games that were released for TDK and TDKR.

Must be the only one but I didn't like Arkham city robin. I don't know whats with the Assassins Creed vibe they had going but after the outcry about the shaved head and it being unoriginal they gave him Ezio's hood and made him look like a man. They might as well put nightwing in the main game. He also looked younger than robin.

The more I hear about this game the more excited I get. Loved the first two games and everything I've heard so far about this one sounds great. Love the idea of going backwards to batmans early days. Also thinking it'd be great to get some more skins, different to the ones from Arkham city. Maybe some of the live action ones (west, Keaton, bale) and some more comic based ones, maybe the new 52 design, the original 1939 design would be really cool too.

I'd really love to get some movie skins too. I'm actually suprised we didn't get any with the last game, but hopefully we will in this one. Batman 89 and Batman Begins skins would be awesome. I think a 60's West Batman skin would be hilariously fun to play as too, and now that DC have rights to use the 60's likenesses it could be a definite possibility. A New 52 skin seems like a no-brainer and I'm sure a few other comic themed skins will show up.
I wonder if they'd include an Arkham City Batman skin too?

Bonus points is there are different animations. Imagine little "pow" and "Wam" bubbles popping up over enemies heads with every hit.:lol

Yeah, I don't know why we didn't get a New 52 skin in the last one; it seems like it would've been a no brainer, considering the timing and all that.
