Thanks for the spoiler tags guys, please keep using them. I haven't had enough time to really get into it yet, only played for an hour or so.

Ran into another Bug when I got to the part...
Where Bane throws Batman out the window of the hotel, he threw me so hard, batman just kept falling and falling. I let it go on for while to see how far he can go, eventually he just fell through gotham and then you would be fallaing away from an upside down gotham city.

I never fell through any black holes while playing the game on 360. After watching this vid on YouTube of what people are talking about I would be furious though. It's just nuts that this made it to store shelves so unfinished.

Froze on me twice so far.
right after the death stroke fight F-ing awesome btw, and right after I snuck into GCPD.

Is Hot Toys going to be doing a Batman from this game?

They announced an Arkham City Batman about (does math) 20 months ago and haven't shown a single thing since then. They teased Joker from AC back in January 2013 as well and that's also been MIA.

I estimate an Origins version will be announced next year and fully revealed sometime in 2023.

Game is great!
I only had one freezing issue, but it didn't really freeze. Right when I was going to talk to Loose-Lips about the Penguin, the cinematic hit, screen went black. Sound kept playing, I could even go in and out of the dashboard but the game wouldn't advance.
The fight with Deathstroke was insane!
And I just did the crime scene at Black Masks safe house, scanned a cell phone and Batman says "...looks like she was sending text messages to Roman Sionis about someone named..."The Joker"." Very cool.

Ah, Ok. Thanks.

For the record, I feel this game is on the same level as the other Arkham games. It certainly didn't reinvent the wheel, but I wasn't expecting that. Its just AC doubled in size, a few new gadgets/tweaks on them, and a new story and characters. Its exactly what I was expecting (aside from plot twists). So I don't know why everyone's got their panties in a bunch. Enjoy it for what it is. Think of it as a BOUNUS game. Rocksteady is still working on Arkham 3. We all know that. This didn't take the place of another game. Its in addition to. And I for one am glad we got it.
I could not agree with this more! I have really enjoyed this game so far and find it as immersing as the previous two were. Im not a huge Batman fan but everytime I play one of these games he shoots to the top of my favorite heroes list! Hes a younger more raw Bats therefore I wasn't expecting new moves or gadgets...if anything I expected less. I love the storyline and the xmas theme. Ive still got a bit to go (just defeated Copperhead) but I think its great and a welcome Arkham fix while we wait for the 3rd installment from Rocksteady.

Yup.. The same ****ing Black hole thing I experienced loading my game save before copperhead combat ..It ruins your progress because you can't do anything to continue .:blissysmi

And this is a video showing the mayor frame rate issues on PS3 I was talking about.. It makes the game almost unplayable and the only solution I found is exit to the main manu and restart the game (and do the same thing whenever it happens.. over and over again) :(

Finished the game last night.
I'm impressed.
For me personally, this was the best of the three.

Really enjoyed the story.

Likewise. Finished the main story last night and felt it was far more compelling than the previous games. That's not to say anything negative about Asylum or City, but Origins had a sense of urgency in its story that the previous games lacked in some ways. I always thought AC was a bit too muddled in the end since you were going up against 2 big bads (Joker and Strange) compared to focusing on 1 large threat.

I will say this:

As much as I love the Joker and realize he's Bats main baddie itd be nice if a different villain took center stage with each game, that's what I thought was going on with this game and Black Mask....gotta admit I love the story but I'm kinda disappointed Black Mask wasn't the "true" villain in this game.

I felt similarly. They really pulled an Iron Man 3 with us thinking Black Mask was the main villain when he was just a Trevor. He ends up as a freaking side mission. I'm OK with it in the end though, because this really established the Joker-Batman relationship. And lets face it, Joker is a scene stealer. Arkham City wasn't his gig, but he demanded the limelight. That's just the character. If he's around, he wants to be the center of attention. So I'm OK with another Joker as the main villain game - he wouldn't have it any other way.

That's my biggest gripe with TDKR actually. Bane is taking over the city and not even so much as a mention of the Joker. That was more of a disrespect to Heath Ledger than mentioning the Joker would have been. Its like Nolan tried to erase he ever happened.

I don't know about that:
I find it worse than what they did in Iron Man 3. At least IM3 you could just say that Killian was the Mandarin who used the image of Trevor-Mandarin as his mask, but here we have Black Mask beaten up and tied up by the Joker while he takes center stage, nothing at all like what IM3 did.

Now mind you, the story IS good. I find that the story is much better than AA and AC, but that's the thing, how many times do they really need the Joker and Bane to make a good story? Scene-stealer or not, it just shows how the writers don't know how to write other characters anymore. Which is just disappointing because they showed Black Mask (and by extension, Deathstroke) so much in the trailers and how he had his "reasons" for going after Batman (ironically Black Mask DOES have all the reasons in the world to go after Bruce), which isn't the case in the actual game. And really, the twist itself was so uninspired and downright predictable, to the point that the story was good enough to stand on its own even if they left it out.

But given the great results it presented in terms of Joker and Bane's portrayal, I'm okay with this for now, but if we get another game with Joker as the main lead villain, I'm just gonna shake my head at them.

I finished the game and I have to admit, it was really well done. Although, towards the end I was having Joker fatigue.
My gripes: The gliding mechanics and the grapple gun did not work well. Sometimes it wouldn't let you grapple unless you were right next to the ledge. Just weird and awkward, not sure how that got screwed up because I really enjoyed it in AC.

I thought the story could have been much bigger. I'm pretty annoyed that we didn't see Mr. Freeze. It was Christmas Eve...We didn't get to see Two-face, or even Harvey Dent. No scarecrow. I was really bummed that we didn't get to see Killer Croc bite off Cash's arm. Why didn't they just make it an origin story all around? Bruce's training-to mob encounters/first appearance-to villian origins-and maybe the AO storyline could have been the third act? I mean I know why they didn't do it (money, time, etc.) But it kinda sucks because it would have been cool to play Bruce's first night out since the game had the mechanics to pull it off. I would rather have a bigger story than that multiplayer...
Also, I haven't played the crime scene missions except for the one in the main story but it's kind of annoying having that big red marker for everything. Kind of takes the fun out of it

Some Pros: I thought Electrocutioner was handled pretty well. Saw about as much of him as I wanted to and he served a good purpose. I think the fighting was better this time around although I did have to get used it. The boss fights were amazing. I played on Hard with no hints, so a couple of those fights came down to the wire (Deathstroke and Bane). I think Deathstroke was the toughest for me. I had to actually stop playing a try again the next day to beat him. Copperhead was cool, didn't overstay her welcome.

Oh wait! I totally forgot how this game actually made me take the Mad Hatter seriously as a villain. That scene at the end actually made me mad.
Did anyone else play on Hard with no hints?

The story really is the best of the three games. It really keeps you interested and wanting to play on, with great pacing too.
Having said that, there's one thing that's been puzzling/bugging me about the story....

When you solve the Lacey Towers 'Black Mask' murder you discover that the 'Black Mask' who was killed was actually a decoy, and the real Black Mask was taken by the Joker (who then disguises himself as Black Mask). And all of that took place days before the events of the game.

So.... at some point Joker (as Black Mask) was captured and locked inside Blackgate. I assume he was captured, since why would he allow himself to be imprisoned only to break out again? He didn't seem to do anything crucial while he was in there.

So, once the police had discovered the dead body of 'Black Mask' (the decoy - but whom it's stated they believe was the real Black Mask murdered by the Penguin) in Lacey Towers, howcome they didn't think to check the identity of the new Black Mask (Joker) who was in Blackgate?

This also suggests that Black Mask (Joker) had been put into Blackgate and imprisoned there without his mask being removed to reveal his identity. Which of course would never happen.

Have I missed something? Or is this a huge plot-hole?

I don't think Black Mask was ever actually locked up in the prison. In the character bios, it says that Sionis has never been been convicted.
