But imo Bruce Waynes Batman has had 7 movies of him doing his Batman thing, it's kinda stale.

Not really, when you consider we have yet to see the "detective" Batman... the guy who's smarter than everyone. That's a big element of the character that has been missing from ALL of the live action films, so far.

The detective, the strategist, the ******* who has plans to take out his friends should they ever go rogue. There are lots of things they can address within a JL movie and after.

Yup.

Agreed. That is the Batman we need to see on film!

I absolutely love this exchange from JUSTICE LEAGUE: DOOM...

Batman: I've carefully studied every Justice Leaguer, past and present and created contingency plans to neutralize you should that become necessary.

The Flash: You've gotta be kidding me.

Batman: Neutralize, not kill. Whoever implemented my plans altered them.

Wonder Woman: It's still a completely unacceptable breach of our trust.

Batman: The members of the Justice League are among the most powerful and potentially dangerous people on the planet.

The Flash: You think one of us would go over to the other side?

Batman: Or succumb to mind control. Yes, it's impossible. That's why I developed plans for containing any of all members of the JLA should the need ever arise.

Superman: None of us would ever do that to you.

Batman: Then you're damned fools.

Oh, how I miss Dwayne McDuffie. :( :( :(

Even better is at the end, when they give him the chance to explain everything, and he basically tells them not only is he not sorry, but he would do it all over again, and then just walks out.

Yeah. Then Superman privately comes and tells him he (Batman) is the world's insurance policy in case he ever goes rogue and he gives him that box with the Kryptonite bullet in it. Batman takes it and just nods slightly. Superman asks, "Didn't you ever think of a contingency plan in case you ever turn?" and Batman says, "Yeah... it's called the Justice League" and leaves. Great stuff.

I was shocked at how dark the movie went. That scen with Bane and the setup for GL were both pretty dark. I love how when Bruce gets back to the cave he is just pissed beyond words. He wants revenge.

That's pretty much a storyline taken from the whole OMAC project SAGA in the comics.

I agree it needs to be shown on film. It's the perfect premise for a JL movie. Show it through Batman's eyes, and make him the villain for the first one. Introduce each character through Batman's eyes and then the big reveal at the end is that whatever threat the JL defeats is basically due to Batman's plans going into the wrong hands

I think everybody agrees with me about that Nolan's Batman is the definitive Batman, and there won't be a better version of Batman. Period.

yeah nolan's batman is definitely the definitive batman.
the next batman movie will most likely suck like man of steel and all the crap marvel movies.

That sounds like an awesome read. What issue/trade paperback is it from?

EDIT: I just googled Justice League Doom. Its a cartoon not a comic?

Yeah, it's an animated movie adaptation of a comic series (published in trade paperback) known as "JLA: Tower of Babel". But the movie is actually better, IMHO.

McDuffie was the lead writer and a producer on the Justice League and JL Unlimited shows, which are just awesome. He died a couple of years ago by an abrupt heart attack. He was only 41. :( DOOM was the last thing he finished writing before his death.

I actually couldn't disagree more. The Nolan movies are very good (and the best made of the Batman films) but they are hardly what I'd even remotely call "definitive". The animated Batman stuff is far, far more deserving of that label. And some of us have hope that the reboot series uses that (and the DCU comics themselves) as its template.

I wouldn't agree with that at all. They're all very good movies with Batman inspired characters in them, but they're not great Batman movies.

I think Tyranus7 only posted that to get the reaction that its gotten. I started to type out a simple reply about how I literally done this :slap for possibly the first time in my life, but then deleted it as I couldn't be bothered to bite.

But agreed, its a pretty stupid statement. And I love the Nolan films and have been a huge fan of Bale for many years. But those films are far far from a definitive version. And obviously nobody knows what's coming in the future so we can't know whether the next version will be better or worse.

I still really need to see this. I thought it would be on LoveFilm but turns out its not. I loved the comic and have heard good things about the adaptation.
