I watched Batman last night and it really got me excited about this. I forgot how much I love the original movie.

Yea, that and Superman The Movie really hold up. You would think with how those movies were that superhero movies would have gotten a lot better.

Some have been great, but I find a lot of them these days will be forgotten in the next 5 years.

I must be the only guy around that finds Superman The Movie dated.

I was watching Superman 2 last night and although I think the movie is still good, it does look really dated.

Don't get me wrong, I love Terrance Stamp's performance but mostly because of how comical it is. People love those films because of their chilhood memories I find, not because they're terribly good films...

I hated Superman 2, but the first one was great. The Donner version is much better but unfortunately he didn’t get to finish it.

Superman has never been my favorite Superhero by any means, but I did enjoy the movies a lot as a kid. I actually saw Superman IV a couple of years ago for the first time in probably close to 2 decades and I thought it was awful this time lol. I do find the first two enjoyable though. But even with my favorite superhero Batman, I do heavily enjoy both of Schumacher's Batman films because I think they are both loads of fun and they have nostalgic value to me (I will be shot at too for this). So I guess a lot of people's favorite movies do come from sentimental values.

This MUST mean we'll see a Nicholson Joker PF. Are there any hints at this or leaked photos? I haven't came across any yet.

Not just you - I'm a die hard Supes fan (he's my favorite), and they are dated.

That said, I'm not sure if there's been a great Superman film yet. When someone figures out how to put "For the man who has everything" onto film (say, as the middle act), I'll be happy

Wouldn't mind a riff on "What's so funny about Truth, Justice and the American Way?" either.
