I thought it was the Batcave to but I read the description on sideshow, the stairs are the church stairs from the End scene of the movie.

Beneath the vast estate of Wayne Manor, millionaire industrialist Bruce Wayne transforms into his crime-fighting alter ego, and descends an iron staircase inhabited by bats into the hidden sanctuary of the Batcave. Crafted in 1:4 scale, this dynamic sculpture captures actor Michael Keaton's quintessential portrayal of Batman, featuring a stunning portrait likeness, iconic screen-accurate costume with bat symbol, utility belt and fabric cape. Grapple gun at the ready, Gotham's only hope rests with the dark vigilante, as he prepares to dance with the Devil in the pale moonlight...

I can see how the underlined part might throw you off, but the bold part is what's going on in the "scene" of the PF. The common understanding here is that he has his grapple gun out because he is about to clip it to his belt right before heading out to fight crime.

Plus, whenever Batman was on the Cathedral steps for the final showdown with the Joker, his suit was battle-damaged. IMO that look + environment would have been a very visually interesting PF, and a bold departure from all other versions of 1989 Batman available.

PF's are quarter scale, could be or couldn't be mixed media…GL i believe was referring to green lantern, which was fully sculpted..

Ok I don't know much about statues I only thought PF statues had clothes. I guess that explains why they are calling the Iron Patriot a PF when to me I thought it was just a polystone statue.

Ok now I feel stupid I guess it was this line that made me think it was based on the end scene at the church.

I should of read it more thoroughly. :slap

And the Cathedral wouldn't have bats or rock formations. I love the base personally, that's the selling point for me.

I'm surprised someone here hasn't stated something like, "the Batcave steps are inaccurate, they didn't spiral and they had rails!" :lol

If someone had enough room they could build one sweet set up where the HT batmobile is sitting behind this fig to compensate for the scale difference.

Don't worry Irv...I'm working on it!! :lol

Haha...I actually did mention that the steps were inaccurate in an earlier post, but with so many pages in this thread I understand how it could be missed. Besides, the base is my most minor nitpick with this piece, just something I noticed too.

The stone Batcave steps are a creative idea for a stand, but inaccurate. The 1989 Batcave had no curved stone steps. I think a much more bold and inspired Keaton PF would have been a battle-damaged one lumbering up the steps inside the Cathedral. The scene would be instantly recognizable even with just a few wooden steps and a brick wall. And a weary, dirty, bloodied Batman figure would have been visually more interesting in terms of details and really distinguished this from the pack of other recent Keaton Batman releases (HT and NECA).

I realize that the PF steps are metal, not stone since seeing better photos. I understand why they had to spiral them to fit into the space constraint of the PF stand though, so I don't mind it that much, but like you, I also noticed the inaccuracy of it. ;)

Can't believe I missed the page with the steps inaccuracy on it. Anyone know the page number I'm on tapatalk btw if that helps?

Dammit. Just pre-ordered this after HOURS of deliberation. Not because this is not an epic pf but have been trying to keep to comic based pfs only. So weak!
