I'm sure there will be plenty of Batman PFs in the future
Without a doubt. That's why I'll pass on the modern PF and pick up the AA/AC Bats PF. When SSC gives us an original sculpt on a modern Bats PF, I may bite on that if it blows me away. I like my Bats in black but every Bat comic I grew up reading was in the blue costume. So, there is some nostalgia there.

Print arrived

Minor wood chip on print. Seems pointless contacting Sideshow though

When I see the same exact pose in diff colors it looks redundant. Like what are you trying to display? Each statue or figure has a mystique about it and having repitive pose makes them look less unique.

That goes for different characters in the same pose to me as well. Having Hulk and Juggernaut in the same pose looks strange to me. It takes away from them being dynamic. There are rare instances where someone sets it up in a way that looks interesting but usually that takes up even more space and has other "props" to enhance the scene.

100% Agree... Rainbow version of same character, in same pose. You only have so much space to display. Don't really need so many colors of same statue

Exactly. One, two, ..... There's only so many of the same we can display. But if it was a brand new sculpt I would want all of them. Repaints should be sold for half price in my opinion since they have much less work, and cost in a way to reissue. I mean some are good repaints but as others have said there's only so much room for a repaint of every character.

I don't mind double dipping on a very few select characters but, I'll NEVER buy a variant of a statue I already own. For example, I own the original EX Bats PF. I won't pick up the modern Bats PF. The statues are practically identical. If I liked the variant more, I'd sell the original to own it. No way I'd be able to display 2 statues that are basically identical to each other in my collection. To me personally, it just looks bad. The sculpts HAVE to be different in order for me to pick up another statue of a character I like. While I will pass on the modern Bats variant, I will be picking up the Arkham Asylum/City Bats PF if it looks good.

I'm pretty sure filip only meant having two variants side by side doesn't make for a good display to him, not that the blue Batman looks bad per se. And I agree - every time I see those rooms with, say, exactly the same Hulk in green and red or three differently colored Chun-Lis, I shake my head. To me that seems less a varied collection than a Pokémon 'look-I-got-them-all' mentality. But each to their own.

Usually I agree with all of this.... But I have found myself buying variants lately.

Gladiator Hulk and King Hulk
Grey and Green PF Hulks
Batman original and modern

I may sell Gladiator Hulk... But the key IMO is not to display them side by side but in different parts of the room... If I keep Gladiator Hulk he will be located on a shelf with all my other large Hulk statues with Grey and green being bookends... To me Grey and green with the different head sculpts and pointing the bodies in very different directions will help them look like different statues... But I would still not have them together.

As for King. He will be on the opposite side of the room displayed with other Marvel characters.

Same with Bats... I will have Joker and Modern Bats in one corner of the room and Original and Superman in the other corner. Depending on which head you display with the original I think both status look different enough because both will be at very different angles..

the Hulk Comiquettes variants I never cared for as you display options are very limited and they all really do look like carbon copies of each other. Much of that has to do with the uniqueness of the pose... they can't help but look so similar.

I agree, I plan to display Modern Bats with Modern Catwoman and Joker, Ivy, And Harley. Original Bats and Original Catwoman will be displayed with Green Ivy. Now where does Batgirl fit into the mix?

True but the Batman variant just sold out and they only made 150 of them! Glad I got one.... Too bad you don't like repaints CBG.

150? I want if true!

? Hes still up, TBD & available to PO

Whew! Thanks I think the ES is not set yet. If it's 150 I'm so bought! I check this site daily for ES sets. SS site I'm have a hard time navigating it. Can't find half those new statues. Would be nice if it was more user friendly.

I think exactly 3000 or 3500

But with a Batman Arkham PF on the horizon as well ... Id assume they wouldnt want the 3 contending Batmans (4 if u count Keaton) cannibalizing sales.

My guess as low as 2500 as high as 3500

I don't think that matters since they have King Hulk, Gladiator Hulk, Green Hulk, Grey Hulk and Hulk Maquette all available for order.

I'm curious, why does Batman wear blue sometimes? Logically, I always thought black, or a dark navy, would be better for stealth, and I always thought the blue was like a reflection of light from the animated series or something like that (it eventually goes all black/grey in the Batman-Superman adventures following), but is there a specific reason why or was it just artist's choice?

The origin of the blue is actually kind of funny. Bob Kane originally had the suit as black and grey but since back then the only way to show highlights was to use a different color to keep with the mostly night time theme of the book blue was used as the highlights for the suit. As Different artists went on to draw the Suit the blue spread to become the color of the suit itself instead of just highlights. So by the 1950's Batman was completely blue and grey. Then in 1964 as part of a revamp of the character the yellow oval was added to the chest symbol as part of his "new Look". Twenty years Later in both Batman: Year One and the Dark Knight Returns Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli would take Batman back to his original roots and make the suit Black and Grey with no yellow oval, since then he's been drawn both ways, Sometimes Dark Blue and Sometimes Black depending on the artists and writers on the book.

So while Black and Grey was always there, the blue was basically taken out of context but then for years became a mainstay.
