This is the first breakdown of why the movie isn't good other than "too many explosions".
Yep. It doesn't work and makes no sense even on paper.
Combine it with the messy direction and very questionable visuals...
Aaaaaaand you'll get the most overpraised cinematic failure of this decade.

P.S.
I had nothing agaisnt the idea behind that movie, it could be great.

I think only one person overpraised it though? Who else did?

Say his name 3 times and he will appear in the mirror...

Gaspar, Gaspar.. Gaspar.

I watched some of it, and while he seems to make good points, I think he also misses the point by miles in some areas.
The bit about the scene where Clark is a child and his vision and hearing powers go nuclear on him isn't there just to set up that Zod starts tripping once his mask is removed.
It is about giving depth to Clark, all that he had to go through to try and fit in. That scene sets up the loneliness of Superman, and gives meaning to his decision of siding with humanity, despite of all he's suffered, or maybe because of it.

If the reviewer didn't get that, then I really don't have much faith in the rest of his analysis.

1. Clark's strugle with his powers and "fitting in" - two very basic things when it comes to Superman's origin story
2. Him wondering around the country from jobs to jobs - that's what sets up the loneliness, not a reminder of him being different
3. That particular scene has nothing to do with his reasons of siding with humanity *otherwise it's just another poorly shoved Christ reference*

By this logic, I need to ignore your opinion from now on... :lol

Looks OK, but they need to make it even more drab and washed out. Otherwise, people may get the wrong idea and think this is actually supposed to be some bright, hopeful symbol of a character.

Don't you think it's a bit we the only images of her we have are drawings? No real photos except the first one? Maybe she doesn't look that great after all...

Movie is still almost a year away and her part will probably be 1 minute long, so they need to keep her a secret for now.
