I translate that to mean, "not as much humor, more serious." Because these movies are all absurd. You can treat a movie with less humor, like the Nolan films by and large, but a giant tank thing jumping off building tops, insane clown guy or steroid injected freak holding a city hostage, man in Bat suit beating up crooks, etc. Just hard to take that very seriously when you really take it all in. These movies aren't Nebraska, Five Easy Pieces, or the Grapes of Wrath.

I translate that to mean what every comic book fan has been saying for decades. Marvel crafts stories about relatable characters, where DC crafts stories about mythic characters. There's a huge difference between "average kid from Queens gets superpowers from a radioactive spider" and "alien super-Moses touches down in the heartland and gives all of mankind something to aspire to with a wink and a smile."

In that regard, I'd actually disagree with Snyder's last point about "more realistic." I think that the world he's building is probably a bit more grounded than Marvel's, but you'd be hard pressed to find DC characters as relatable as Marvel's. You'll never see someone as virtuous as Superman, you'll never see a billionaire as driven by his sense of duty as Bruce Wayne, and there aren't enough Kings and Princesses in the world to make Aquaman and Wonder Woman a possibility, but a scrawny kid from the Bronx who refuses to quit? A nerd from Queens?

Granted, that's all surface level stuff; you could surely make a case for Superman as "the ultimate outsider," but the point is that there is a very mythological presence to the DCU, as opposed to the "extraordinary being thrust upon the ordinary" that Marvel is so famous for. I don't think that's a slight against Marvel, either; I think that's actually part of what makes them so appealing, and part of what makes each company so unique.

You guys like Michael Jai White? I thought he sucked acting opposite Ledger. Might as well put Channing Tatum and Daniel Day Lewis in a scene together.
He could act circles around Chris Evans but. . .admittedly, that's not saying much :D

Falcon Rising--awesome movie. Black Dynamite--pretty dang good.

But that only applies to a handful of characters, not everyone in those comics. DC has the Challengers of the Unknown, Doom Patrol, Teen Titans, hell, Justice League Europe and countless others who aren't more "super powered" than your typical X-Men or Avengers team. Marvel has the Eternals, Silver Surfer, Thor and the Asgardians, all the cosmic entities floating around in space like Eternity, Phoenix, and others who rival anyone in DC.

Marvel initially made stories that were more relateable and realistic with some of their comics (particularly Spider-Man and the X-Men), but there was lots of variation even then with Thor and Silver Surfer being in the mix, and that changed toward the end of the '60s with DC catching on, and they've been more or less on par since then.

You're welcome bud.
I know man, although I doubt we'll see a sneak peak from Hot Toys, part of me is hoping there's a slim chance
that we'll see something.

They've never shown anything before a movie before have they? Even for their glorious Ironmen

Kind of reminds me of the armor he wore in the first Batman vs. Predator series, which now that I think of it would have been an acceptable subtitle for this movie.

He was talking about movie franchises and so far we've only seen one DCCU film - "Meh of Steal".
These cheap promotional talks in all of their interviews are not convincing. Not one bit.

Oh, if that's what he meant then you're right, or maybe. I did get a more mythic feel from MoS than from any of the MCU movies, the only time I ever get a mythic feel at all is when I see Thanos, let's be honest, we should feel le epic pheel with the Thor movies but instead we got le meowmeow lmao, AoU did have a pretty epic feel with Vision and Thor making a city explode :lol I'll give them that.

As far as comic universes go, DC sometimes blows my mind with how mythic they can be, Marvel does it too but far less often, it's their nature, DC is a pantheon of gods doing godly things, Marvel are the "human flawed relatable characters" and these days not even that, it's all about da lolz.
