It's pretty easy to see why they did what they did, and I don't hate Eisenberg. It's just a bit dull though isn't it, Bad guy nerd?
The problem is, no matter how good the script or plot, you already know exactly what this Luthor is gonna be like... before you see the movie.

How very postmodern of them.

90 days after The Force Awakens and 40 days before Civil War gives them a nice clear playing field. A $100 million opening weekend is pretty much a guarantee. Will it get close to $200 million though? Will be interesting to see.

Yeah BO-wise this movie is pretty safe, and with the Suicide Squad hype all WB's eggs are no longer in one single basket.

If both movies are decent they might still pull it off, I do hope they're more than just decent though.

Remember now this is not just any cbm this is THE BvS, when I say flop I mean below JW opening numbers now.

This movie better have the same legs as JW.

I'm surprised Feige hasn't been fired yet

I believe he's stepping down after Phase 3 anyways.

As soon as one hedge funded studio breaks a record they all immediately want to do the same, and when it doesn't happen, heads will roll.

Afleck is huge!!!!

Hey...how does this version of Superman shave?

I remember in the ('80s, I think) post-Crisis reboot of Superman comics he used a piece of reflective metal from his arrival craft and bounced his laser-vision off it to shave.

Why would he even be subjected to human hair growth behavior, Kryptonian's have the ability to grow and shrink their beards at will.

Each individual hair strand was genetically imbeded with complex codex personality behavior algorithms.
