I'm holding out hope as well, but I admit, those spoilers didn't sound too great to me, seems too comic booky for my taste.

It might just bring all the fans that didn't like MoS back around.

Almost like it's a comic book movie :lol

If all that is well executed, seems to me like it's a better story than the X-men imo.

I've always been more of a movie buff than a comic book guy, and my favorite superhero movies are the ones when a director perfectly blends both to make a great movie featuring superheroes, as opposed to making a good comic book movie but not a great film.

People love the first Avengers, maybe it is a great comic book movie (I don't think it's even that), but it's not a good movie. There's very few superhero movies that I actually believe are really good movies that someone's grandparents can actually sit down and enjoy as well.

I guess it depends on which X-Men film you're talking about, FC, or DOFP? Sure it can top those, I doubt it though, I consider those to be great superhero movies, but not great movies. When I think of great superhero movies that really can stand on their own as movies, I think of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and X2, those are the only superhero movies that I really felt were great movies. I thought The first Iron Man came close to being a great movie as well, but the third act became a stereotypical superhero movie, but I loved the end with him telling everyone he's Iron Man, that was different and fresh.

Those spoilers just seem like something a fan could have cooked up, I was hoping to see both guys have a battle of ideals, but it just seems like someone is pulling the strings.

But a great comicbook movie can also be a great movie while being comicbooky.

I meant more FC/DOFP, those are great stories imo.

I agree with you on Avengers, and most of the MCU, they're not good movies, they're good superhero entertainment though.

Maybe, but I felt MOS was very comic booky too, I had no problem with the serious tone, the problems were bad writing and the acting for me.

I agree it can, to me TDK, BB, and X2 are comic booky, but they have a lot of depth, not just in the story, but how they're shot, the performances from the main cast, and taking the themes of the comics and building a story around them in a modern and original way. DOFP had that a little bit, but unfortunately it had way too much baggage from previous films and even future films to really be a great movie that can stand on its own. It's actually a bit of the same problem with FC too that Matthew Vaughn couldn't actually make the X-Men movie he wanted to.

Good point.

I agree with you about BB/TDK/X2 and IM with poor 3rd act. MOS also tried to be in the same class as BB/TDK but it failed.

Even the mighty TWS can't hold up to BB/TDK in the narrative dept although it certainly blows them away in the action dept.

So, with all that being said I just want to see Batman kicking some serious ass in BvS and also see WB/DC finally embrace the fantastical.

If it makes it to BB/TDK/X2 levels then all the better.

:lol:lol:lol

You think there is hope for this movie?

Hope was lost long ago.

Well, you held up hope for
you know what
over a decade after it came out :lol

I know you don't like MoS, but what do you think about how it was shot? It think the photography is pretty slick.

- Batman's origin is basically the title sequence. It starts with Zorro and the death of Martha and Thomas Wayne. This takes place in 1981. Affleck narrates it Dark Knight Returns style about childhood, guilt, etc.

- Children are playing and diving into the water near the wreckage/remnant of the Kryptonian ship from MoS. They find kryptonite. Luthor's team get a hold of it. Luthor uses it to lure Batman in to steal it from him so Batman and Superman kill each other off

- Lois Lane is covering a story and is captured by terrorists. They find a tracking device on her and assume it's CIA. They kill her partner and she's taken prisoner. There's a huge shoot out with the terrorists, then Superman arrives. Superman rescues her. Some bullet subplot which leads to the audience finding out that Luthor was involved with all the things we see play out in the film

- Alfred is a drunk

- Wally, a wheelchair bound MoS survivor hates Superman and spray paints False God on the Superman statue

- Bruce has multiple hallucinations/visions in the film including his mother's tombstone and the "knightmare" future shown in the trailers where Batman is a rebel and his men are slaughtered by Superman and Co.

- Luthor uses Wally as a part of his plan by rigging his wheelchair to explode at the Superman trial, killing everyone but Superman

- The congress woman, Wally and Marcy, Luthor's assistant/body guard all die

- The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg all appear on footage encrypted by Batman and intercepted by Diana. She views the footage of the three on her laptop. They're part of a Luthor/Waller project

- The "you let your family die" letters and morbid pics are secretly sent to Bruce by Luthor to make Bruce snap (along with the destruction at the senate superman hearing)

- Batman beats Superman

- Batman is about to kill Superman by a rod until Superman and Lois Lane tell him that this has all been orchestrated by Luthor and that Martha Kent is being held hostage

- Batman sets aside his differences with Superman and goes to save Ma Kent from Luthor's men because he won't let another person (in this case, a fellow mother/Martha) die because of himself

- "Doomsday" is Luthor's end game

- Luthor is in jail, bald. Batman comes close to branding him for his crimes, but resists

- Superman departs/says goodbye to Lois

Oh and,

Tornado dad (Kevin Costner) returns. No joke. :lol

I've held out for so long...To read or not to read? Even quoting this, I managed to scroll super-fast, so the only thing I read was the last bit, which wasn't a huge biggie. Nope, nope, nope; don't want to. Then again, maybe I can spoil it for my buddy who sent me a screencap of Han Solo dying the day before Star Wars came out, the mother****er...Nah, that'd mean spoiling it for me, too. I think I've got enough of a sense of what it's going to be like from what we talked about that I don't have to know everything going in.:lol

Don't read it. Try going into this film knowing as little as possible. :)

I thought it looked alright, personally I think most of Snyder's other films looked better, and I really wasn't a fan of all the zooming in and out during the action scenes. I actually think Superman Returns looks better, which is crazy because Singer isn't really known for his visuals but SR had a really cool retro silver age look.

In MOS, there were certainly scenes I thought looked great, most of them had to due with Superman floating in the sky and his cape rippling in the wind, BvS looks a lot better visually in my opinion.

Superman Returns did have a cool calming aesthetic to it.

Probably too much for its own good.

Shame only parts of that movie were in 3D which meant no 3D home release.

Shame because I would love to watch that plane rescue again in 3D.

Ultimately though both SR and MOS suck. :lol
