Wake me up when a superhero movie gives me the same level of carnage that was on display in Rambo 4, then we have something worthy of a ratings discussion. :lol

Until then, leave me be with my goat.

I'm going to have to see this movie, aren't I?:lol

I don't believe for a second that they were ever planning on releasing a R rated BVS, it's a obvious reaction to Deadpool.

I do however believe that they did submit a version of the film intended to garner an R from the MPAA. They do this to make the version they intend to release seem more tame. This is something that has been somewhat common practice for the last 20 years, pioneered by Tarantino with Pulp Fiction.

Ever heard of Zack Snyder?
One might want to Check his filmography before stating that an R rated super hero movie was never his intention.
:)

They presented 2 cut to the mpaa, the theatrical and the extended for home entertainment.

I love the ideology split between WB/Marvel.

WB is embracing extended cuts right out of the gate with their big tentpole movie that is serving as the genesis for their connected universe.

Marvel won't touch extended cuts with a ten foot pole leaving them to the other studios with Punisher, Daredevil and Fantastic Four.

WB better watch out or it will be expected everytime like it was with the Hobbit just because LOTR did it.

Now, which is Zach's true directors cut?

Probably both just like watchmen.

And me too i like the fact that Marvel and Dc are doing their own things.
Love me some harmless joyful fun like Antman but heavy metal magazine Supes vs Bat is more my thing.

Bale should return as the Arkham Knight or something.

No, in every Batman film, the villains always steal the film...even back in the 60's tv show the villains owned the show and even on the Gotham show, the same thing :lol Batman can be pretty boring if it wasn't for his villains.

Oh God, are we going to be talking about this in the next 10 pages? :lol

That is how it should be. A hero is only as good as his villains.

R rating will not be because of violence, American care not for violence . Our puritanical nature comes out in film rating for nudity and scary words.

Lois Lane show a butt or breasts.......
BAM instant "R"

Jurassic world was super violent, and bloody, but Mad Max got an "R" for ****ies with metal covers over the nipples and a bare ass..... The gore in JW was much more bloody and frequent......

I mean damn you see a woman get eaten alive in that film......

I think the reason Bale is lamenting his performance is because he senses with the R rating (and what I think is a cooler costume) the new Batman is being unleashed and stands a chance of eclipsing the Nolanverse version. This Batman looks to be more brutal, more inventive and more cunning. I think the Batmobile looks cooler than the Tumbler. Even the thug fight in the trailer looks better choreographed. Also, the universe this new Batman is inhabiting is more fantastical, which may end up being more interesting. Still they are going to have to go quite a ways to compete with Ledger's Joker.

I'm very much looking forward to this movie.

Mad Max also featured some top notch violence including a man's face being ripped off.
