Mad Max also featured some top notch violence including a man's face being ripped off.

You see almost nothing in that scene. We get full up close shots of a dinosaur eating a person , throwing them into trees, a man being devoured by a raptor , blood spray everywhere.....

MM got an R because of the subject of sex slaves and end of days.
JW got PG-13 because the studio knew it needed a younger audience , and its a monster movie which is easy to digest for the GP.

One of these days I will do a direct comparison of this crazy situation. Death count in JW is MUCH higher than MM. But again its not the violence that counts, its what makes the GP in America uneasy that makes the R or NC.

Agreed with the point that Marvel Netflix is hard R territory in some instances.

And regarding Netflix, I'm watching House of Cards at the moment. You want someone who could kick both Batman and Superman's ass? Forget Facebook Luthor. Francis Underwood would have no problem with that.

Oh, you mean the previous Lex?

Such a waste using him in Returns. They should have just brought him back. He was and would be an Awesome Luthor. I just don't like internet-start up, young punk Luthor. Old Money Luthor is better - keeps him connected to the Waynes and Queens better.

Amen....current annoying LL is going to be this movies biggest failing to overcome.....two older superheroes ( Indeed one with a really dangerous hairline) against evil kid super genius....Ugggghhhh.

They should have made LL and old man before some young ADD punk

Not exactly "K-r-r-r-r-r-ryptonite!" :lol Spacey Lex was as much of a doofus as Hackman was. Intentionally. But the actor was perfect, of course.

He was good for what they were trying to replicate, but yeah, let him go all Frank Underwood and he'd be amazing. I think people would have been equally excited for that as they were for Cranston. I don't expect Eisenberg to win me over at all. Even though I was against Heath's Joker upon inital casting, I was won over completley by the first trailer alone and I'm just not feeling Eisenberg from what they've shown us. I just feel he's too important of a character to screw up so I wouldn't even mind them retconning him later to be Lex Luthor Jr and bringing in the real Lex at a later point.

I still think that Bryan Singer casting Kevin Spacey in his two and a half hour Richard Donner tribute/fan film should qualify as a crime against humanity, because, after seeing House of Cards, I think Spacey was a perfect choice who was just wasted in a mediocre movie.

*Cough* I'll just leave this here. *Cough*

There's a good movie in Superman Returns, it's just plagued by bad decision making & soap opera tone.

Routh has some classic Superman moments, Spacey shows how evil & cold Luthor can be in such a film at certain points, & the cinematography coupled with a lot of the effects shots were really nice. I'll tell ya what was wasted - Parker Posey. There was your Lois.. but no. We got the other chick - unforgivable stupidity. Frank Langella was great too.

Anyway, I still prefer Routh to Cavill, sorry. :)

Well, I didn't say who looked more like Superman. :thwak

Awf cawrse Cavill looks the part way better than Routh.

Routh looked like Singer's boy toy. :lol

I was talking about who acted the part better and who is an overall better actor.
