That was my face, Punisher was brutal! :lol

Good boy. :lecture

:lol

Irish, does Gal Gadot get a lot of screen time? Any side story or is she just sprinkled in?

Are the rumors of her investigating Lex and saving Aquaman true? Can you shed any light on if any other JL members are shown in the "set up" scene... or is it just Flash and Aquaman? Also, are the rumors of Hal Jordan being a pilot in this film true?

Thanks! :)

Don't take him to BvS then. He'll be bored for about 3/4 of the movie. :lol

No chance of that happening. I will let him watch certain youtube clips of parts of it. Like he loves watching the opening of ASM2. Spidey swinging through the city and saving people is fun for him. And he loves Hulk or Cap doing anything. When he's older we will watch the full films. Until then, we watch The Good Dinosaur for the 4400th time.

She has pretty decent amount of screen time, but most of it as Diana, not Wonder Woman. She's really good at both.

She is investigating Lex, which is what she's doing in this story. He's essentially been gathering intel on other "metahumans" in the world and has files on her, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg. Both she and Bruce Wayne are after the file (she's after it because he has a photo of her from WWI), but Bruce the one who decrypts it and finds out about the others. The other JL members are shown in video footage from these files when Bruce (and later Diana) watch it. Though Flash also appears to Bruce as a vision in a dream. No Hal Jordan.

Thanks! I'm super excited to see the movie on Thursday.

I'm pretty happy the last rumor I asked you wasn't true... wasn't a fan of that idea or the actor in that role.

Quick-Shot Thoughts:

- Not what many are expecting. If you thing this is just 2.5 hours of CGI and fights, then get ready to be way wrong. :lol

- More emotional than any of Zack's movies to date. And there are a handful of moments with some real "feels".

- His persona will still rub many the wrong way, but Eisenberg's Luthor works. He's by far the smartest and most insidiously evil Lex Luthor we've seen yet. He's basically a younger, more conniving, dweebish version of the Animated Series Lex. And damn he is evil. You'll want Supes to punch his face off.

- Anyone who still ******* about Affleck as Batman after this absolutely should lose any credibility. He's not just a great Batman in this, He IS Batman. And even his Bruce Wayne scenes work.

- Gal Gadot is also very good, and absolutely convincing as both Diana Prince and Wonder Woman. I expect her solo film will be HIGHLY anticipated after this.

- Cavill is allowed to "flex" a little bit more here. His Clark seems much more "real" this time, and by the end of this movie all of the "Dark Superman" nonsense should be history.

- There are moments of genuine humor in the film.

- There is one small scene at the end that I actually think would have worked better as a post-credits stinger (there isn't one, by the way). For a couple of reasons: It would simplify the ending (and also cut down on some of the ROTK-esque multiple endings feel some may get)... and it's also the perfect tonal set up for JUSTICE LEAGUE. I love Zack, but some times he does make creative decisions that I don't personally agree with (like much of SUCKER PUNCH :p ). This is one of them. It doesn't really hurt the movie (or the ending), it just kinda annoys me. Because it seems, to me, like a no-brainer. Then again, I'm not the one whose head is on the fire squad. :lol

- I'm not sure if it's come out in the leaked Spoilers, but the thing that makes Batman and Superman stop fighting and form an instant bond is pretty elegant. It makes me wonder if it's ever been done in the comics during one of their many encounters. Wouldn't surprise me. In fact, he would surprise me more if no one had thought of it until now.

- The difference between Goyer and Terrio is Night-and-Day. Terrio is not only a better writer, he's also smart. There's subtext and exposition here about both mythology and theology that Goyer could never had grasped and captured. There's still a slight stench of Goyer on this film (I'd say the final script was about 85% Terrio), but he saved it. JUSTICE LEAGUE is in great hands.

Well, this I trust...here's hoping!

And BTW I AM one of those guys who will admit I am wrong if it turns out good.....

BUT if it does then the marketing department has serious issues.

I don't think it has been done, ever. When DiFabio told me I thought it was genius.

Does the film explain how people don't recognize Clark as Superman....or do they just ignore that because of the glasses?
Did you know that Cavill went to times square like 2 days ago, dressed like a normal person, walked around and stood in from of the BvS banners and nobody recognized him? :lol he literally proved that **** works.

Tickets bought. IMAX and, unfortunately, 3D.
This ****ing sucks, here in my theaters they only have 3D IMAX too :gah:

would you guys still be as brutally honest (or just plain brutal) if you knew superman himself was reading your comments? apparently, henry cavill lurks regularly on forums like these...

:lol

am watching bvs in just two days' time! can't wait.

I would have no problem telling him to his face that his Superman makes me laugh.... and not in a good way.

In Jedi I trust.........to determine whether it's worth fighting fan girls for tickets or just wait a few weeks until it dies a slow death. :lol

:rock:rock:rock

:lol

Cause you know, everything Snyder has ever touched is perfect in every way, all hail Snyder!

That deflection of yours works for a lot of things, I bet.

And of course by that logic not one person who has been defending this as yet unseen movie masterpiece would admit its **** if it sucks donkey balls?
:lol

Exactly!

Those deriding it without seeing it are the same as those praising it, just two sides of the same coin, I guess.

I'm of the mind now that anything Snyder touches is crap, until proven otherwise. Simply based off his body of work.

:exactly::exactly::exactly:

Opinions on flicks swing on a dime here. Jye went from hating TFA to leg humping it a few posts later. :lol

Disney paid him off :lol

Quick-Shot Thoughts:

- Not what many are expecting. If you thing this is just 2.5 hours of CGI and fights, then get ready to be way wrong. :lol

That is exactly what I think this is. I hope you are right and I am wrong.

- More emotional than any of Zack's movies to date. And there are a handful of moments with some real "feels".

It is not that I don't trust you... I do... but this just seems hard to believe. Of course it is all personal opinion and how one is affected by a particular scene... but not one Snyder film ever made me think or feel emotional.

I wanted Superman to punch his face off as soon as I saw him! :lol He certainly is dweebish.... from the trailers I just question his "evilness." He doesn't come off as a good villain at all... hope that changes, I just have no faith in him.

- Anyone who still ******* about Affleck as Batman after this absolutely should lose any credibility. He's not just a great Batman in this, He IS Batman. And even his Bruce Wayne scenes work.

No one should lose credibility based on an opinion. Either way, the scene with Alfred and Bruce talking about war was really good.

- Gal Gadot is also very good, and absolutely convincing as both Diana Prince and Wonder Woman. I expect her solo film will be HIGHLY anticipated after this.

Good to hear. I really have started liking this version of WW from a design standpoint.

- There are moments of genuine humor in the film.

Yup, was in the trailers. They made me laugh greatly.

This intrigues me.

Let us hope you are right.

What are you feeling on MOS and how would you say this one compares?

I think MAN OF STEEL is... okay. Maybe pretty good, even. There are definitely things about it that bug me, but I do feel it also gets a very bad wrap from some people. Also, 95% of the issues people have with that movie are due to the Goyer script that Nolan signed off on before Zack was even hired, so it really rubs me the wrong way when he gets all of the blame from people who hate the movie. :lol But I also don't find it very re-watchable, which is a mark.

That said, BATMAN v SUPERMAN is, without question, a better movie in pretty much every aspect. I've seen it twice now (once finished) and can't wait to see it again this weekend.

3D will more than likely suck in this movie.

I don't know. It'll depend on how good (or bad) the post-conversion was. There are a few things I could see being very cool if done right in 3D.

Seeing it in IMAX (2D or 3D) will be a must, as he used IMAX cameras for certain sequences.

There is another cool Dark Knight Returns reference I'll share just with you guys. BUT *BEWARE* ****SPOILERS!!!****

During the Doomsday fight, Superman basically takes Doomsday into space and is going to take him far away from Earth. But the military sees it as an opportunity to take drastic measures once and for all and once Superman and Doomsday clear Earth's atmosphere and orbit the President orders them to fire a nuke. It detonates both Superman and Doomsday. Doomsday falls back down to Earth, and eventually gets up even stronger than before. But Superman is left drifting and they think he's dead. This is where the DKR bit comes in: When we next see Supes before he recovers, he basically looks like the zomibified Superman from DKR when he gets nuked over Corto Maltese. It then takes him orbiting a bit and having the sun hit him for him to start recovering. A very cool homage.

Irish, thinking back on our conversations on the man of steel years ago. I felt that the movie was really lacking as a Superman movie and the script was the problem. I'm glad you see that. I wanted to really like it, there are some parts I like and some parts I don't. Unfortunately, for me the bad parts outweighed the good. You always said that the next movie would be a reaction To Man of Steel. I guess you were right, and with the new writer I think Batman v Superman is a better movie and I cannot wait to see it.
