this thread when it comes to talking about the movie's problems

The more I reflect on the film the more I like it. I think the most disappointing thing for me in the film was the flash, both scenes were bad and future flash had a facepaint/tattoo mask and mad max style armour from what I could make out.

Still can't wait for his film the most, always been my #2 behind Bats.

I liked Supes arc through this film too, except the pa kent on the mountain scene. Didn't like the "visions" in the film and hope they get explained at some point otherwise it just seems like their losing their minds and seeing things.

I think he even gave his son more bad advise. :lol

Really? Like 2 or 3 other people, not only me are answering your questions, even the 5 year old viewer questions you posted afterwards.

And you're here like "nu-uh it's bad, it's bad, you're answering everything but it's still baaaaad" :lol

That meme doesn't work son! :lecture:

Quick question for people who liked the movie: Did you see it in Imax?

Absolutely. Thursday night I saw it in straight IMAX at my local AMC cinema. No 3D. Just straight IMAX. And it was gorgeous looking. Personally, I think it made the film that much more epic and badass. Awesome movie going experience. I so want Snyder and WB to release their three hour R-rated cut of the film in IMAX this summer.
Not that big of a fan of 3D anymore and I'm glad that theatres (or at least AMC) are offering moviegoers a choice between the formats.

crows, we get that you have a newfound hate for this movie, but I gotta say... You can do a HELL of a lot better than quoting another Faraci hit piece.

:lol

I just did. It was 2D and looked fantastic. Thundering sound was incredible as well. It was also great to see Netflix Daredevil preview in IMAX as well as the home release of TFA. :yess: :lol

Thanks Khev and Gaspar and whoever might respond to the initial question. Just curious whether theater experience had an effect on opinions of the movie. I still haven't seen it yet but I pretty much know everything about the film now. There shouldn't be anything left for me to be hypercritical about as I often can be with movies, so that may allow me to enjoy it more than I normally would.

It was suggested to me that I should see BvS in true IMAX. I don't make a habit of seeing movies in 3D or IMAX or 3D IMAX because I feel a good movie should be enjoyable on any screen but if it makes a huge difference then I might have to make the effort.

crows and Difabio, you two have just flabbergasted me with your reviews. Am I right in thinking it was mostly the editing that neither of you liked?

It's funny because everyone talks about the Lois sub plot and how it was pointless. The part that bothered me was that these hired mercenaries were shooting the ground for no reason except to put a bullet into the book. Was he that bad of a shot that he lost control of his gun in auto fire and put a line of bullets on the ground. It made me laugh a little. But still say i loved the movie.

Movie had a few odd instances......wife pointed out during warehouse scene one of the thugs was hang around appearing to look at the floor while Bats was kicking ass....then waltzed up to him waited for him to throttle another thug then engaged for his ass kicking...really stood out but it didn't really ruin the overall beat down..just one of several odd moments. :rotfl

BvS ruled the box office this weekend, both in international and domestic markets, bringing home an estimated $424.1 million worldwide. The record-breaking performance saw the film set a new domestic March opening weekend record and it also serves as the largest domestic opening for Warner Bros. ever. And while the clash of superhero titans was doing it's thing, Universal's counter-programming release in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 also performed well as did Roadside's Hello, My Name is Doris and Bleecker Street's Eye in the Sky.

With an estimated $170.1 million, Batman v Superman topped the March opening weekend record previously held by The Hunger Games at $152.5 million. Should estimates hold, and WB seems to be confident they will, this also tops the $169.1 million Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 opened with in 2011, making it the largest domestic opening for the studio. This is also the largest Easter opening, topping the $147.1 million brought in by Furious 7 last year as well as the largest opening for a film based on a DC Comics property, a record previously held by The Dark Knight Rises at $160.8 million.

That's great. I hope Zack, Ben and everyone can get some vindication with its financial success. Audience ratings in the B range are also respectable.

I'm not pointing fingers at Zack Snyder. I feel he's passionate about the material in his own way and sincere in what he does, no matter how misguided it may seem.

But when I see a film like BvS break records opening weekend and the kinds of people who eat it up, I can't help but feel the conversation below is being had by higher up executives at WB, who know the movie is gonna make money no matter what they throw together. Fast forward to about 1:10:

I never read Miller's TDKR

If casting is 90% of directing, then I'd say Snyder & WB got it about 90% wrong.

Exhibits A & B. Heroes are only as good as the villains they oppose.
Lex Zuckerberg and WETA Troll redesign just didn't cut it for me . . . mileage for others will vary.

I'd say the verdict is still out on Wonder Woman: she had about sixteen lines total in the whole movie and when in action seemed to be a mass of pixels rendered in a computer . . . :dunno

Guy Young is WB. They know any movie with Batman and Superman is gonna make bank no matter what. If you enjoyed, the movie, great, but most will agree it's not TDK (or even TDKR) calibre-filmmaking. Even those who like BVS are like "I really loved it, but..."

I saw that guy. :lol

Oh well, at least the punches and kicks looked like they connected, unlike TDKR's horrible fist fights.

2nd weekend will be all telling and right now there is no strong competition for BvS to go up against.
